Firstly, I know it is only May but it is time to get thinking about Father’s Day. It will be upon us before we know it. The best plan, as with Mother’s day and Birthdays is to buy early and avoid having to buy a petrol station greetings card and a bunch of scruffy flowers.
I often forget important days, which is where the calendar app in my Android is so helpful. This year I am informed it falls on Sunday 16th of June. So stick it in your diaries ladies and jellybeans.
Here are a few ideas, in no particular order…
A personalised Thanks Dad poster, it is unframed but Wilkos sell cheap frames.

If Dad is a gamer-geek then a new controller might be right up his street.
A Tardis coffee mug, “ohhh yes!” Tell him that “It can hold more coffee on the inside” and smile like a nerd.

How about a special Father’s Day meal in a posh Hotel or Restaurant? For example, the Wentbridge house in Pontefract, Yorkshire.
Or an overnight stay in Bournemouth for two?
If your Dad has a bit too much stuble going on make his life eaiser with a Philips Rechargeable Shaver
If you’re feeling really flush, maybe Dad would like a new LED TV?
Does he like a cuppa and some cake? Send him a personalised fathers day cake in the post if you don’t live together.
If Dad likes a little but of “pop” these test tube shot glasses are great. My partner has these and the kids use them for ginger beer and his are full of JD and pepsi!
Then I came across this from 365games.co.uk, which is totally freaking awesome. Family Guy Monopoly!!
Or maybe join Daily Deal Superstore and keep an eye on offers in your area? It gets deals from many big deals sites, all in one place, Groupon, Secret escapes, KGB all on one page. Every so often a great Fathers day idea pops up on these deal sites. Recent offers included Paintballing, and hot air balloon flights, and I have seen offers like golfing, clay pigeon shooting, cookery classes and zorbing… so keep your eyes peeled.
