A while back Pop goes your name sent little Jen a CD, not just any CD though, it has his name in the songs. Unlike much music aimed at children it is not offensive to grown up ears. It has 12 songs, an un-personalised intro track, then 11 personalised songs. The music is decent, it is not the usual ultra cheesy toddler pop. It is sung by real people with real instruments, not just digital nonsense. My little guys name was sung by the same person that sang the rest of each song – I was half expecting the name to stand out, or worse to be in a totally different voice to the rest of the song. Thankfully it does not sound like an answer machine or Phoebe from friends. You can check out some sample tracks by Pop goes your name on their soundcloud. It is a little gift I would recommend to his friend’s […]
I am pretty sure people that know me well know I love the Manic Street Preachers. Last night was my Christmas present. Blokey gave me a xmas card with a note saying “this is a promise of a hotel booking, manics gig tickets for two and a babysitter”. We don’t get much alone time without the boys. A very thoughtful gift I thought although it was a long wait.
Following on from my Planes post earlier today, we have now listened to Disney’s Phineas and Ferb’s rather brilliant album Rockin’ and Rollin’. D is a big Phin&Ferb fan, and was very pleased to listen to this, if a bit disappointed he couldn’t get it in iTunes as the trial copy was stream only, no downloads. In honesty that is the only thing we could put down as a negative, and if we were a paying customer we wouldn’t even have that issue, so it’s a big thumbs up for this album in our house. If you’ve never watched Phineas and Ferb it’s one of the only good modern cartoons (In my opinion, no facts or survey results) as it is an intelligent programme. The soundtrack is out now, and it, well, Rocks! We honestly were laughing whilst listening to this, and unlike the Planes album it does not matter if […]
Little Jen was pleased to be asked to listen to the Disney’s Planes movie sound track. He adores Disney Cars, and was really excited before the release of Disney Planes. It was due to start showing in cinemas whilst we were on holiday camping in Devon, so he INSISTED we took 3D glasses with us. We actually booked it online from a tent, that’s a new experience. He loved it, he was counting down the days until it was showing and then during the end credits he said “Sooooo when are we getting the DVD mum?” but I couldn’t give him a date to countdown to this time! Planes is about Dusty, a crop-dusting plane. He dreams of being a racing plane, like a farmers boy dreaming of being a F1 driver. He dreams of competing in a famous aerial race. The problem? He is hopelessly afraid of heights. With […]
