Before I write too much I want to apologise for the pixelated images and badly done blurring – I was shouted at in a threatening manner for taking these images. I’ve made them fuzzy on purpose to avoid confrontation. A few weeks back, around Easter time, the parking situation near one of our schools was becoming dangerous. A few parents took to Facebook asking people to park legally and considerately or have their parking photographed and sent to the police and shared on Facebook too. These photos I took were not to wind anyone up, I actually took them to try to share on my blog about road safety. Hopefully enough time has passed that I can write this without things “kicking off” at the school gates again.
Sitting in the doctors surgery waiting for a Dee to have minor foot surgery we overheard the sweetest conversation between strangers. An elderly lady and a cute little ginger lad with amazing curls in his hair. She asked him if he was a good boy for his mum. “You’re being good for your mum today. Are you always this good? I bet you’re on Santa’s nice list aren’t you?” His face lit up. “I’ve wrote a list but it’s not super long like my the ones my sister writes” “do you think he’ll come for your big sister and give her toys then?“ “No she’s getting books and things.” Maybe she asked for books, or maybe he sees books as a bad gift but he was grinning as he said it. Was adorable listening, he pretty much recited everything he was hoping for and then told the lady that Father […]
What do I want for Mother’s day? Expensive perfume? A meal at a posh restaurant? Flowers? NOPE!
I read something on T’internet tonight I had to share, Darren of OD3G blog has started an e-petition in response to more graphic images being on the front pages, making them hard to ignore, and lets be honest you can’t unsee the woolwich murders covered in blood once you’ve seen it can you? What’s the problem? Well children actually, I don’t want my child to see decapitated soldiers, or murders or the moment a pressure cooker bomb exploded or piles of bodies covered in cloth after flood/earthquakes. Nor does Darren, and he has a point. The Front Pages petition can be found here.
Dear little Jen is refusing to sleep in his bed, so we’ve been refusing to hug, chat or anything after a few efforts to get him to his bed. Here he is last night… Asleep on my stairs. And earlier in the week he made a blanket nest instead of getting in bed… And here he is in his bedroom doorway! Anyone know why he is doing this? It’s not cute like the photos. It’s actually rather annoying he can sleep anywhere unless its at bed time and in his bed. :-/ We tried reward charts for behaving at bed time, we tried taking away favourite toys or time limits on them for being naughty, we’ve tried ignoring it but he goes on hours. And when he eventually gets to bed we are all tired and grumpy, then to make it more fun there is bed wetting thrown in. Struggling […]
