Send Me To Sydney?

French Connection are running a competition where you have to make a video using clips from their advertising campaigns. In the tweet below is my entry. The most shared entries will be chosen to win prizes, with the main prize being Sydney, but some of the runners up prizes are FC vouchers, which I wouldn’t say no to. To make it easier, under my tweet I’m including the links to Share via various social media sites. Pretty please, if you’re reading this please please share using one of those links? I made a film! Share it so I can win a trip to #Sydney with @fcuk #makeascene. po.st/FdAfR7 via @po_st— Julie MRB (@JulieMRB) April 17, 2013 Share on Facebook   Share on Twitter   Share on G+  Share on Pinterest

Why did I have to go to paradise eh?

Since returning from Australia everything here seems so boring, dull, pointless, and outright COLD. Is it bad that after just a single week there I’m totally hooked on the place? My nickname has been Roo since I was a baby, family reasons…. but since I landed back in Blighty I’ve worn my Aussie Roo necklace everyday. I don’t even take it off to sleep. I honestly CRY at programs or adverts about the land down under now, and find myself “window shopping” travel websites. It’s surely not right to miss it so very much is it? There’s nothing like Austrailia, NO KIDDING. In my heart I think I have emigrated there already! In reality I doubt I’ll ever go again, possibly after we retire in a few decades. It’s only the cost stopping me, you would not believe how many Aussie holiday competitions I’ve entered since going there, but does […]

Slightly overdue… Australia 2

A month ago I landed back in Blighty after going to the land down under. Well I think I will honestly struggle to get across how much I loved it, and how I truly miss the place after such a fleeting visit. I soooooooo want to go back, I wish I could. On 4th November I took off from Heathrow, after a minor strop about Qantas seating plans…. my second holiday via plane, and they’d put me alone… away from my friend. Cue me, stamping, crying and talking to myself. I’m not a brat, but was stressful having the ITV DayBreak cameras there, emotions were getting out of hand. Qantas had little choice, I was stood ON my seat until a reshuffle took place. :-/ my Mate Jacki stayed calm, fair play to her, I know I’m annoying! It was hours and hours of flying.. we arrived in Sydney late […]

Three weeks to go….

Three weeks today until Australia, I am getting all nervous, excited, I cry, then I’m happy. I’m an emotional wreck! I’ve got suitcases but still need travel money, insurance, and lots of little things. Felt pretty good as I bought 3 mini skirts yesterday ready for my amazing holiday… suncream a few days ago too. A week ago I was told I won the ITV Daybreak Down Under Competition. I knew I would get informed that week, before Friday, and was told to be near my phone between 6 and 8.30am as I might get called whilst live on air. By 10am on Friday, nothing… I’d lost hope, I was a right grumpy moo. Had been to the dentist for more bad news, then popped into work to say hello to my colleague. Needed to buy shampoo, so did that and Jenny ran away in a shopping center… I was […]

Excited and nervously waiting….

I got a phonecall yesterday from ITV. That’s right compers, a biggie! The comp the call was about is “Daybreak Down Under“. I can’t even remember what I wrote in the “why should we pick you to win” bit on the form although I remember writing it, then deleting it and rewriting a few times! Picture Credit – From ITV.com website The ITV chap wanted to confirm I entered myself, wanted to go and was eligible (age, valid passports and so on). I am *shortlisted* rather than won it, yet. Fingers crossed bloggers!! I didn’t think to ask yesterday when on the phone how many were shortlisted… I so should have. Curiousity got the better of me, so went looking online on my phone at lunch time at work today. Shortlist is only 75 but there are 50 prizes. So two thirds of us shortlisters will go to Aussie. The […]
