Hello readers. Do you remember a little while back I wrote about Gloucester food bank? Well the lovely manager has emailed me to say that there will be big collections at the bigger Tesco stores in Gloucester and I want to share this info with you all. In fact since reading the email I have seen an advert on the telly saying that Tesco will add an extra 30% to whatever is donated in their stores this weekend 3rd 4th and 5th July, if its on the “shopping list”. If you are shopping please consider buying a couple of cartons of long life milk or a few nice tins, or an extra bottle of shower gel. Even one donation helps, it all adds up. Ok a tin of peas isn’t a meal but it does get packed in to meal kits and passed on to a person or family in […]
I’ve made an early start on Christmas presents and have a few people’s gifts sorted already. The gift I’m proudest of, and a blindingly good price are these photos for family. The photo collage prints cost 99p each for 10 x 8 inch on snapfish, and the frames are from poundland, and it’s a real glass window on it, not perspex as I would have expected of a cheap item.
I have recently joined Collective Bias, or #CBias as it gets called on twitter. It is a shoppers programme where a few bloggers are chosen for each project, and then you have to plan and go shopping for a particular product, and photo it like crazy. I felt like a spy in Sainsburys. My Google+ photo album – my (not so) Top Secret mission! This mission was made for me, go and buy Diary Milk chocolate by Cadburys. Well it would be rude not to accept wouldn’t it? The mission was cookery, so I’ve had to bribe my partner in to cooking as I can burn salad me. Truly I am a bad cook, and he is great, so it’s the logical thing in this house that the Daddy cooks. First up Dairy Milk Cookies. Two more Yummy Cadbury baking blog posts follow this post shortly… stay tuned! Fudge Cake […]
As you might have heard me mention before, I use discounts and deals sites. Things like cash back sites (see my side bar) and group buying deals sites. Well there is a new kid on the block, and I think it’s going to be HUGE. I would like to introduce you to Daily Deal Superstore. At the moment the site hasn’t got much publicity but I wouldn’t be surprised if you see it advertised on big websites soon, it is such a neat idea. It’s like a comparison site crossed with a deal site. Can you imagine Groupon, SavvyMums, KGB deals, Wowcher and lots of other daily deal sites, all in one site?? How about daily deal sites you have not even heard of yet? If there is a deal to be had, you can find it. Well it is that! I’m in, I think it is a brilliant idea to […]
Screen shot from Tesco.com A Which? report has revealed that many consumers are confused and annoyed that supermarkets use labels and packaging that is similar to well-known brands. Well maybe I’m unusual, but I like that they look the same. I’m a mum on a tight budget and when Jen goes on about “Dr Pepper” which is often nearly £2 I can say “yes, ok you an have a treat” and pick up the copy cat Dr Pop one at around 70p. I can see its not the same product, the printed labels aren’t identical so I do not feel its confusing, from my point of view its I can buy something that looks very similar, tastes the same but is less than half the price. Why wouldn’t you like that? I had a quick nosey online at one of the big four supermarkets (Tesco just because I shop there, […]
