Phineas and Ferb – Rockin’ and Rollin’ Review

Following on from my Planes post earlier today, we have now listened to Disney’s Phineas and Ferb’s rather brilliant album Rockin’ and Rollin’.

D is a big Phin&Ferb fan, and was very pleased to listen to this, if a bit disappointed he couldn’t get it in iTunes as the trial copy was stream only, no downloads. In honesty that is the only thing we could put down as a negative, and if we were a paying customer we wouldn’t even have that issue, so it’s a big thumbs up for this album in our house.

If you’ve never watched Phineas and Ferb it’s one of the only good modern cartoons (In my opinion, no facts or survey results) as it is an intelligent programme. The soundtrack is out now, and it, well, Rocks! We honestly were laughing whilst listening to this, and unlike the Planes album it does not matter if you’ve never watched Phineas & Ferb on the telly box. Some of the songs we recognise from episodes we had seen, some we did not, but with lines likes “who’s going to give me wedgies now” you should laugh. If you don’t find it funny, I’m sorry to break it to you but your fine sense of humour is deceased.

The voices are of the real actors, and from episodes so proper fans, like my D, will recognise them. Trust me, Ferb Latin makes No Sense At All unless you have seen that episode. The genres of music are a right wild mixture, a bit of country and western, some pop, dance, and things I can’t name. But it’s messed up in a good way.

Who remembers the Southpark album – Chefaid? Well it’s like this but family friendly, with no swearing, and no squeaky Cartman. Perry, Phineas, Candace, Ferb, Baljeet, and of course, Dr. Doofenshmirtz feature in this album with some characters having their own song.
