Nope, this isn’t going to be a soppy, lovey dovey post. But there will be photos. We had a non traditional wedding, and I’m going to list the quirky bits, the me bits. First up we didn’t go all bridezilla and crazy, things were booked fast then not worried about until just before the big day. There is no point stressing and almost needing a divorce before you’re even hitched. Luckily neither of us are religious so that cut down on “rules” and traditions. We only informed family about a fortnight before the wedding, we invited just immediate family, a bridesmaid for me, a best man for him. One exception to the “family only” invites was our pal Kevin and his wife Lynn. I married him because I love him, because he’s a freak that makes me giggle, because he keeps me sane (mostly) and for lots of other little […]
My Blokey is a great, if slightly mad, cook. He comes up with ideas, sometimes daft, but this time it was genius. Hot cross bun bread and butter pudding Ingredients 8 hot cross buns 40g butter 100g chocolate chips 3 eggs 330ml milk 2 tablespoons caster sugar Method
A long time ago, 14 and a half years ago, we were both members of the same website. It was the glory days of chat rooms. We were part of the same group of friends, although we had never chatted, I was often chatting with his best mate. After a while some bright spark said we should all meet up in person. The date that was chosen was my 20th birthday so I can never forget that date really. We all met at Yates wine bar in Leicester Square. It started out so well, but the conversation got naughty fast! I’m not good at trusting men, nor am I fabulous at going to a pub in a big city alone.
So your partner is a bit of a geek, and you’re struggling for ideas? Hopefully this might help. Blokey is a geek, there is no better way to describe him. I like cute and fluffy, he likes sci-fi and computery. So here are some gift ideas. RavPower phone back up charger.* I can’t afford new iPads or tablets but I can suggest getting a RavPower 6000* charger. It is a cool looking rechargeable battery that can power mobile phones, tablets and Apple items. I was kindly sent two of these to test out, and I have had the pink one in my handbag most days and has come in very handy on days out when I have killed my phone battery by photographing everything. Geeky USB cufflinks. I found these on eBay and they vary in price by seller, generally speaking the slowest delivery imports coming from the dark side […]
We’ve got two nights childfree. Although I love my boys I love being able to get rid of them now and then. So what do you reckon I found Blokey doing when I woke up? Making brunch maybe? Nope. Baking cakes? Also a nope. He’s making Benny’s Spaceship Lego. Of course. Linking to #MySundayPhoto.
My Blokey is a large chap, built like a rugby forward player, which means buying clothes has always been a bit of an issue for him. He struggles on the high street, so much so he only buys online now. One of the websites he uses for his clothing, especially his jeans and work suits, is Jacamo. So when Jacamo offered Blokey some manly footwear as a gift he wasn’t going to say no. He chose two pairs of high-tops. One pair are navy blue canvas with white rubber soles, and flat white laces. The other pair are also navy blue but more appropriate for the season we are really in. Sorry Blokey, it’s not summer anymore.
