Lego Mixels and Lego advent calendars 3

If you are looking for some cute little stocking fillers for children this Christmas then Lego Mixels might be a good choice. Jen loves making Mixels, then taking them apart and mixing the sets up too. Mixels are basically brightly coloured little monsters made from the quirkier Lego bricks and pieces. There is a cartoon that goes with these models, and gives the characters a bit of a back story and Jen loves this. Dee, not so much! He’s happier to build them in to bizarre new creations of his own choosing. It really does suit both of the lads, even though one is at Primary school and the other in big school. Mixels come in series (currently on series 6) and each has 3 sets (tribes) of 3 models. So in the current series there is a green, a yellow and a purple tribe. On their own they make […]

Last minute Christmas tree craft 14

I don’t really do Christmas cards anymore. Instead I’ve made a little gift at a similar price to a card but with way more love, care and cute. I was looking at my craft box carrier bag (sorry) and thinking what I can make. Last year I made some friends heart shaped decorations using red and green checked tea towels, bright ribbon and some pound shop jingle bells. I had started a bit of a tradition, the lovely ladies I meet for coffee (almost) every week would be expecting something cute.

Christmas presents for pets 4

Yes, I am one of those people that give my pets gifts at Crimbo. I have always done this, and I can remember walking around indoor markets and buying my pets very cheap toys with my pocket money at a young age. I consider the pets as family members – even Tan the chicken who hates me. It feels wrong to pile things under the tree for the children without getting them to give gifts to the pets. This will be Freya Woof’s second Christmas living here, and this time she knows what to expect. Ohhhh dear. Recently we received a parcel of pet products from Feedem and Freya has been stealing her bauble toy already. I haven’t actually given this to her but she knows it will be hers. Light pawed madame. Keep reading if you want to know how to make some nice pet gifts.

Speck FitFolio Case for Nexus 7 1

Speck were lovely and sent us some cases to try, for 2 of our tablets and 1 of our phones. My eldest son D got his Nexus 7 last Christmas and he bought a very cheap leather look case from Amazon. It did the job, but within minutes of getting the Speck FitFolio case on his device he said he wish he’d got a better one a year ago and he couldn’t believe how much better it felt and looks. It costs £29.95 online. The quality difference is massive between Speck and the five quid generic tatt case he was using.

Thorntons The Snowman and Snowdog Chocolates

Bring a little bit of festive magic to someone special’s Christmas or New year with this extra-special range of choccy treats. The Snowman and Snowdog are favourite festive TV characters, and these gorgeous models are carefully crafted from Thorntons creamy white chocolate so won’t melt in the morning like snow but I can’t promise they’ll last too long as they are rather tasty!
