Today Jen is unwell, he’s being sick and he’s exhausted. He got out of his bed, got dressed and went to my bed – its bigger and we’ve got a tv. Freya Woof is watching over him as he is watching programs about RSCPA dog rescuers. She came running earlier when she heard him vomiting in the bathroom and she hasn’t left him since.
When I was at the Manics gig this weekend Freya woof was in doggy daycare. Sadly whilst on “the common” with her sitter she lost her tags. When we first adopted her she came with a yellow tag with a password that finds her details in a dog database. Whilst a good idea I thought “who will want to do that if they find a stray dog?” so we went to Pets at Home and had a blue bone shape one engraved on an automated machine. I didn’t like it! The bone was £7 and the colour rubbed off, it felt cheap. So when Freya lost her tags I went looking online and to my surprise on eBay they are a steal. Two tags I like, engraved and delivered in 3 days for £6.50. The heart replaces her yellow tag, mentioning she has a microchip so if found full details […]
Today this has been happening. Kids and steam trains, plus Freya’s first train experience.
Hello there readers, I’m pleased today to be writing about CanvasDesigns.co.uk They are a photo canvas printing company, and they have kindly been working with lots of bloggers lately so you’ve probably heard of them already?
This time last week Freya and I went walkies for charity.
Yesterday the kids were bored and moaning they didn’t want to go out. They’d gone a bit stir crazy in fact and all the overly aggressive “playing” was worrying me. It was one of them days. After another time-out moment Blokey and I told them to get coats, shoes and the woofs lead. We hadn’t had lunch yet, and Blokey and I just needed to get them out of the house. We popped to a certain popular drive through to grab lunch without leaving the woof.
If like me you’re bad at remembering dates when you should or shouldn’t be doing things for your hounds health might I suggest the 1st of each month? About 6 weeks ago I last did Freya’s flea treatment, and I couldn’t remember the date I used the flea spot on at all. So I’ve waited until the end of the month so in future knowing the date its due is easy peasy. Today will also be worming tablet day. I know she’s not going to volunteer to eat a tablet so this will go into chunks of meat from our dinner later this evening. She won’t notice it so much then, and it makes those yukky looking tablets a reward, not something to be wary of.
Romantic doesn’t have to be a silly over-priced token gift. To me its the little things that are most romantic. Things like coffee and breakfast in bed, or when Blokey picks up on tiny things I say. As regular blog readers will know, I’ve had a troubled past. For me the sweetest thing ever was when we were talking about 80’s toys as we are the same age. I said how I used to collect Pound Puppies and Pound Purries but I had to leave them when I ran away, and I regretted that. Well I wasn’t dropping hints, I was not asking nor expecting him to find me any PP’s. But he went on ebay when I was asleep and bought a Pound Puppy mummy dog. The ones with the velcro tummy with babies inside. I was so surprised, a simple comment in a conversation, I had forgotten it […]
Firstly I know it is not yet Spring, but January is a great time to have a proper clear out after all the chaos of Christmas. If your garden has been effected by all the heavy rain, like my poor garden has, I bet the carpet is a bit of a wreck? Around the same time I got Freya Woof, I got myself a cheap (entry level) Vax carpet washer ready for, erm, wet patches. I am extremely glad I bought this, but I keep thinking I should have forked out a little more for a better model like this one. I love my Vax and Blokey has previously accused me of being obsessed with washing the floor since I bought it. I’m not obsessed with cleaning, but I will admit I love seeing so much dirt come out of a carpet that looks clean, then just pouring it away. […]
Ok it’s Freya walking us really but it’s fun letting her off the lead. She is mad as a box of frogs. It’s tricky to photo her so I video’d instead. But first we had to wait for other dog walkers to leave the fields.
Freya loves Wagg food and treats, so we were delighted when Dalton the Wagg woofer invited Freya to be part of “Dalton’s pack” reviewers. It’s great working with a brand we buy and love already. We’ve tried Freya on a few types of dog munch since she was adopted in October, but in total honesty she spat other brands of food out. With treats she loves her Wagg treats, but will take other brands too. Although she has her limits, Wilko value dog biscuits were a step too cheap. She refused them out right, all except the yellow ones. My hound knows what she likes and that’s fine. She also likes to steal meat that has been allowed a few moments to cool in our kitchen before serving, but that’s another story! The lovely people at Wagg sent Freya a little parcel of love earlier in December and she’s been […]
