Oat Cookies – Cadbury Dairy Milk Creative Cooking With #CBias

I have recently joined Collective Bias, or #CBias as it gets called on twitter. It is a shoppers programme where a few bloggers are chosen for each project, and then you have to plan and go shopping for a particular product, and photo it like crazy. I felt like a spy in Sainsburys. My Google+ photo album – my (not so) Top Secret mission! This mission was made for me, go and buy Diary Milk chocolate by Cadburys. Well it would be rude not to accept wouldn’t it? The mission was cookery, so I’ve had to bribe my partner in to cooking as I can burn salad me. Truly I am a bad cook, and he is great, so it’s the logical thing in this house that the Daddy cooks. First up Dairy Milk Cookies. Two more Yummy Cadbury baking blog posts follow this post shortly… stay tuned! Fudge Cake […]

#SpecialK30 – How Things Change in 30 Years 4

Did you know Special K is 30 years old? Well it is. The lovely folks at BritMums sent me a box of new recipe Special K to try out. It’s better than I remembered, to be honest I used to hate the stuff, but I was happy to munch it this morning. So much so I might even buy it on the next big shop. This is my entry for the BritMums and Special K How I’ve changed Linky challenge. Priorities.. Cuppa, munch and Hair straighteners.   THEN.. Thirty years is a long time, I was a toddler so my memory isn’t perfect. I would have been in cloth nappies still (probably), and would have been a right handful on stairs and pavements as I was an inquisitive type. But the music was brilliant in the Eighties, and I loved leg warmers and jump rope. I wanted a chopper bike, but […]

#PKTMNYparents blogger challenge 6

I just read a blog post on BritMums asking parent bloggers to say what our children do or would do, with pocket money. So here is my entry for the BritMums and pktmny blog challenge linky. For D it’s always the same, his pocket money goes into his bank via standing order each week and he saves until he’s reached his goal. The main thing he saves up for is Lego. D is obsessed with Lego, but only likes certain ranges….the lad knows what he wants! Normally when he’s just short of the RRP of the model he wants we have to check in local shops,  then Google to make sure it’s a good deal. Last year he saved most of the year and bought himself a Nintendo 3DS in blue. He again knew what he wanted, and we searched online and in town for the best deal for him. He […]

Banks got me annoyed

Why are telephone and internet banking “security” questions so awkward that even I can’t access my own account. It’s frustrating as I know why I’ve failed security, I was asked the values of a few recent transactions on my account. One of them I knew was Lloyds chemists, it was the prescription charge for anti depressants. I said I have no idea what the NHS charge is, 7.50 ish. I had to Google it, surely the man on phone could accept “NHS prescription fee” as the answer, but no. I explain I’m disleksyc and numbers don’t stick, but surely knowing exactly what I bought, when these items have a set price, that should be good enough. If anything shows I know my account that I knew the location of the transaction and the time of it! The reason I’m trying so hard to contact my bank is we are trying […]
