Dramatic thunder storms 3

Monday night, Tuesday night and this morning (Wednesday) it has been like fireworks in the sky. I have got some video of it from last night which I can’t upload right now, but I will. The night storms are strange, no wind or rain just thunder and lightening. At home me and the boys have never seen lightening without rain. It wasn’t just far away, the forks of lightening were flashing in all directions yet it remained dry. A very odd sensation.

Our Italian adventure 3

So far its not going to plan! Gatwick was busy busy busy. We arrived at about 3:30am. Way too early that. Anywho for a 5:35 flight that should have been early enough but the queue was so big we were called out of the queue “Passengers for Verona make yourself known to staff” and were moved sharpish to the front.  Once we made it through security and bag drop and all that we attempted to buy breakfast. Worst service ever at EAT cafe. We asked for warm sandwiches, mistake! How can a toastie take twenty minutes? We had to run to the gate, food uneaten. At the gate plane was half an hour late, people were shouting at the lady on the desk. We did not yell at her, I said please and thanks and have a great day. We were the first flight due to leave, so I bet […]

Fundraising with TinyMe 1

You know I am doing that crazy skydive thingyamybob soon? Yes? Well I have come across a marvellous fundraising idea. TinyMe (who I’ve mentioned here before) are being very kind and saying they will donate 20% of sales mentioning Team Matilda Mae to the skydive JustGiving page. TinyMe is great for personalised labels for school uniform, gym bags, lunch bags, and even books and puzzles.

Brushing teeth 1

Why is it my Jen hates brushing his teeth? He tries all kinds of excuses for why he shouldn’t and sadly his dentist wasn’t much help. When I said in his last appointment “Jen refuses to brush his teeth most days” she replied with “don’t worry these are still just the milk teeth” to me and later to Jen “your teeth are looking great, well done”. Not well done, they have big tartar lines along them. I was less than impressed. Luckily the folk at Oasis have been in touch and sent Jen some charts and stickers and sugar free lollipops as rewards.

Run away from the footie 9

In this house none of us like football, so things like the football world cup are not fun to us. So many people suddenly wearing just their countries team colours. So many “did you see that goal” comments the day after a big game. I am sorry footie fans, I just don’t get what is fun about it. To be honest I’d much rather be in warmer place, somewhere where I don’t speak the lingo. Somewhere I miss the “did you see the game last night? Shocking performance wasn’t it?” from the locals as I won’t have a clue what they are saying. Somewhere I’ve never been. Somewhere with good food and ice cream. ITALY.

Play.com want to know about your #ReasonsToShop (competition ended) 166

I was a happy bunny when the folk at Play.com contacted me to ask if I wanted a gift from their gardening category. Yes, yes please was my reply. What I picked out might seem dull or boring, but I was about to go and buy similar in town. As I’ve mentioned more than once, pet chickens are organised and efficient garden destroyers. They dig, scratch and peck at things obsessively. The chickens pecked and scratched so much that my lawn edging was shredded, as is most of my garden. We had a cheaper lawn edging like this product on Play. The cheper option is £10 for my bed, or £30 for the better fake stone option I chose.

Bank holiday weekend as a #MorrisonsMum 8

Last weekend I was lucky enough to get sent some Morrisons shopping vouchers and asked for my opinions on Morrisons prices, quality and the experience as a whole. Morrisons were extremely generous and sent hundreds of blogging parents shopping vouchers, so we could all give them a go, and look out for the “I’m Cheaper” logos. To be honest we normally shop elsewhere, but with a new store open in Gloucester this was the perfect excuse to go to M instead.

Parragon books – review roundup* 3

First up, an apology – I am a bad book buddy! My boys receive a book a month they are meant to review, and a pile of books is just sat next to my fireplace. So consider this a book round up if you will, catching up! All the links to buy them are in the Amazon widget* at the end of this post, or I have seen several of them in WHSmiths for less money normally than Amazon. First up… Yuck! Gross! Activities This book has lots of very boyish puzzles, colouring in a sewer maze to free a rat, Jen had fun scribbling through this book. It’s 192 pages and has an RRP of £10. Inside this disgustingly doodly, fabulously foul activity book, you’ll find everything that’s slimy, sludgy, icky and yucky! Including revolting doodles, creepy-crawly colouring and hideous how-to-draws. Plus gross mazes, puzzles and activities galore!
