Yesterday was fun! 8

After several months of silence and keeping a secret I broke it rather loudly. I put an announcement on the big screen of a televised and sold out rugby match. Yup, it’s true. I proposed back in early January, I had it booked just 2 days later. I’ve waited many years, I wasn’t going to waste time planning. Haha.

Rugby world cup street art 1

Yesterday we went to the Tonga vs Georgia match at Kingsholm in Gloucester. It was a great game, and I was probably on telly again but I’ve not watched the recording of the match yet. As you can see we were pretty close to the pitch. Not a bad view really, and despite my phone camera failing I can (just about) use the Selfie camera. Gloucester usually has some cracking street art, and this week lots of new work has appeared. So new in fact we walked past as one artist was spraypainting a wall. If you are visiting Gloucester for the Rugby World Cup I strongly recommend you walk down the alleys and shortcuts to see the art. This is linked up to #MySundayPhoto on OD3G blog. Remember all these were on a Selfie camera on the front of my phone and I couldn’t see what I was snapping […]

Let’s #PassAroundTheWorld with Saracens rugby 1

As regular readers will have spotted I like my rugby, and we are season ticket holders at our local club. Going to the match is a big thing around here, and the whole city is rugby focused. At the moment the city is gearing up for the rugby world cup as some of these matches are being hosted at Kingsholm. Everywhere you turn there are rugby posts, flags or rugby shirts. So when I was contacted about the Pass around the world campaign I knew I wanted in, well except it mentions Saracens rugby, as that’s not the most popular team around here. We might be slightly eccentric fans, but its fun to be part of the “Glaws Family” on match weekends. What is Pass around the world? Its a fun little project by Allianz and Saracens rugby- they want you to upload a video of you passing a rugby ball […]

A trip to church 3

No no, not that church. Being a West Country lass I am at the alter of sport, cider and pasties. I am at Kingsholm for the last match of the season. We get here early, before most of the congregation. We take our place, center front of The Shed. Our normal place, my son has even scratched his name on to the pew safety barrier. For this graffiti I am sorry Ushers match stewards, but around here Rugby is in the blood and the kids get passionate too. In about an hour our choir crowd will be singing proudly as our martyrs squad are named one by one. In fact in genius timing as I’m typing this the vicar PA man is playing Hoozier’s song “take me to church” to the flock. Later we’ve been promised angels RAF Falcons will fall from the sky to bless our pitch and bring […]

D will be going to a Grammar school! 4

So proud of my Mr Smartie Pants, we got a letter this weekend saying he was one of the boys accepted in to (in my opinion) the best school in the area. One of the reasons we bought this house was the number of schools nearby, some better than others, much better. A Boys only Grammar school. From what D has said it seems only he and one other boy in his school were actually selected by the grammar school. Gold star for my Son!!! Go D!!! Its brilliant news, I thought I had messed up my lads chances, as the entrance exam was on the weekend back in October when I wanted to throw myself from windows. I refused to accompany him to the exam as I couldn’t face going outside, I let him down. Thankfully his Dad took him there and waited to pick him up after […]

Review of Dr.Beckmann laundry products 1

Recently Dr.Beckmann were kind enough to send me a few products to try. Dr.Beckmann Colour & Dirt Collector First of the products I tried was the washing sheets. These catch colours that end up in the water so it doesn’t soak in to other items. I was a bit sceptical of these and have seen them for sale in shops before. The thing is we have many items we wash separately as they are multi coloured and don’t match pale or dark laundry loads, such as our rugby shirts. These are navy blue, bright red and white cotton. A colour run nightmare waiting to happen. I mixed these items all in one load…. Pale, bright vivid colour and black! I would never mix these colours normally. Action…. Blurry action… Very pleased to say my Elmo pj top didn’t get ruined! And final photo to show you some used sheets versus […]

Today was the Christmas rugby match

We all went to Gloucester Rugby today. I was wearing my Gloucester rugby shirt with my name on, with a bah humbug hat. Blending in! Todays match was a total sell out. Crammed full, a bit squashed actually. If wasn’t with partner I’d have freaked out, I had a rant to him about the woman behind us. Kept touching me accidentally, please don’t touch me. :-/ He told me to chill out, and held my hand. It started off ok and Jen was sharing packets of sweets with the stewards. Then a regular Gloucester fan who isn’t that young was dressed up as Santa was walking about with a bucket of sweets, he’s in the middle photo but it blurred. My lads chased after Santa and took a single sweet each, not a handful like some cheeky kids. What I thought was fun was Gloucester were running a fun thing. […]

Random kindness last weekend at the Rugby

We go to Gloucester rugby matches almost every weekend they play at home, last weekend was the last match of our season and just before the match another fan nearly reduced me to tears. He came over to me, and stood there, I was wondering what he was upto and thought he was trying to nick Hubby’s space as he had just popped to the loo. I soon felt guilty as he says ” I wonder if your youngest would like this? Is it ok if I give it to him? ” Now I understand people can be funny about presents from strangers, but this was just so kind. The gift was a Jenson Button BrawnGP cap! Jen was pretty pleased and has been running around with it on, proudly yelling things like “I’m as fast as Jenson Button mum!” And “is this what Jenson Button wore when he winned […]
