This month I asked Wagglepets for a bit of help. Our Freya is a fussy hound, she gets bored then refuses to eat particular brands of food. She decided she no longer likes the RSCPA dry food that Wagglepets were sending us, and they switched us over to Royal Canin, no drama.
In the box this time were the usual poop bags, various biscuit based treats, a blanket and flea treatment. The flea spot on couldn’t have come at a better time, Freya had recently got her first ever tick, I did it all wrong and removed it without a special tool or gloves. Apparently there is a right and wrong way to do it. I’ve found an article on removing pet ticks here, but be warned, it includes a photo of a tick at the start of the text.
Since swapping food Freya is putting on weight, she’s technically overweight for a saluki now but as long as she’s happy and the vets are happy I’m fine with it. Doris hasn’t changed at all, she eats because she is hungry unlike Freya who just seems to enjoy eating.
This time round I gave some of our treats, poop bags, and a blanket away to a dog in need, along with some left over RSPCA brand food. A local family lost everything in a house fire, all possessions gone. The family all escaped, the family cat died but the dog made it out. I think Freya and Doris will cope just fine with a reduction in treats for a little while whilst Max the dog recovers. I also nicked a few squeaky toys and ball from their collection for him. The family are in a hotel temporarily, but poor Max can’t stay there so is being fostered by other locals. I couldn’t take him in (Freya dislikes him) so I gave things towards his upkeep instead.
Insurance always baffles me but I *think* that if something like this happened to a Wagglepets dog they’d be covered for up to £1000 towards emergency pet boarding. Wagglepets work with MoreTh>n insurance, and you can read about that here.
So in summary I’ve been a bad blogger and not taken photos but I’ve been a good neighbour and helped a pet in need.
