@travelsupermkt  #JollyJourneys Competition with @Tots100    I read on Tots100 that TravelSupermarket are after travelling tips for keeping little folks busy in the back seats on long journeys. Well, this is right up my street.   We drive to places like Wales, Devon or Cornwall for holidays. We are normally going camping, so the boot is often pretty full.  Where we drive to, Cornwall On the longer journeys we have in car DVD players we recently purchased, but we only take a few films. Its for boredom relief if we get stuck in traffic, rather than the main entertainment option.   Often we talk for the first hour or so. Car Snap is Jen’s favourite game. D will be going to a Grammar school! 4

So proud of my Mr Smartie Pants, we got a letter this weekend saying he was one of the boys accepted in to (in my opinion) the best school in the area. One of the reasons we bought this house was the number of schools nearby, some better than others, much better. A Boys only Grammar school. From what D has said it seems only he and one other boy in his school were actually selected by the grammar school.  Gold star for my Son!!! Go D!!! Its brilliant news, I thought I had messed up my lads chances, as the entrance exam was on the weekend back in October when I wanted to throw myself from windows. Devon Camping is Booked 3

Most summer holidays, in the last fortnight, we go away camping to Cornwall. This year we are going somewhere slightly different, Devon. Okay, it’s not massively different geographically but its much closer in time as we can get there almost entirely on the M5. The A30 is OK, until its not, and then you are stuck in long queues with no way around it. So this year, no thanks. In August we will go to Dart River camp site, near the moors. Within the camp site itself there is a few adventure playgrounds, and other cool things like canoeing, rope climbs and zorbing. Sounds pretty good as several of these on site activities are included in the price of camping. We will still be near beaches, sadly pebble beaches not sand. There will be the moorland to explore with a picnic rucksack. Something different from the city for the boys. […]
