Vegamour vegan hair care 11

Gifted product to review. Ad

My first job as a teenager was in hairdressing, not that you’d know that looking at me now as after the Corona years, I’ve still not been back to a professional to get my haircut. I can’t be the only person who dislikes strangers touching them, after years of social distancing and disinfecting everything. I am very aware of the poor condition of my hair, not just my DIY cut, but the texture of each individual strand was rough, and frizzy.

No problem you might think, just nip to the supermarket and buy the best conditioner they sell? Nope! Here’s my problem, I have a constantly itchy scalp, with oily hair roots, great mid lengths, and shockingly dry ends. I’ve never found anything that improves the strength and texture of my hair, soothes my scalp and suits combination hair. I don’t have dandruff or head lice or something obvious like that, but I have tried so many anti dandruff shampoos, sensitive hair products, and head lice treatment products (just incase!) in the hope of getting a bit of relief. Nothing usually works and theres never been anything wrong that doctors can find, but I truly feel itchy to the point of needing to scratch like crazy several times a day.

Nicely packaged, and mostly recyclable.

That brings me to the Vegamour products I’ve been sent to review, I’ve been using the range for nearly a month now, and I have definitely noticed an improvement in hair texture and strength. I have been sent a head massager, once a day gummy supplements, scalp serum, shampoo, repair mask and a repair oil. An unusual thing about Vegamour’s haircare is that they’ve created a vegan alternative to keratin that seems to work!

Bubbbbbles

Seemingly counter intuitively, you start off with a serum that you apply directly to your scalp, which you would think would leave it all oily and greasy, but it doesn’t. That is what stops my scalp from itching! The bottle says to use weekly, but I’ve been using it twice a week and I still have maybe two thirds of the bottle left.

Leave the Vegamour Gro scalp detoxifying serum on for a couple of minutes and give it a good massage in with the head massager, and then go to the shampoo. The first shampoo will only loosen some of the serum and dirt in your hair, not be a proper deep clean. As most people with long hair, know you need to shampoo your hair twice anyway, so during that the second shampoo you get mega bubbles and it has a lovely scent like clementines or satsumas, rinse these bubbles out and move on to a conditioner or repair mask.

Hydr-8 mask in use.

As you can hopefully see, it’s not all oily, heavy and greasy as you’d expect, it just looks wet. It actually says to apply from the roots to the tips, and I was very sceptical about that because to be honest as this advice would usually be a disaster for people with combination hair because it just makes your roots so greasy you want to wash your hair again just a couple of hours after getting out of the bath. But no, not with this Hydr-8 mask, it rinses through nicely, without leaving manky, clogged up feeling roots. If I want my hair particularly shiny, I finish with Hydr-8 repair oil, but only on the ends. The repair oil smells like Christmas, cloves and spices, just a happy memory sort of scent.

Not straightened or blow dried.
The supplements are little heart shapes, and they actually taste nice.

Brace yourself if you do try Vegamour, it’s not an instant fix like some cosmetic shampoo and conditioners (hint, you’re worth it, professional affordable, dandruff – I don’t etc) you can get in the supermarket. Those can coat your hair in silicone and other chemicals though. Think longer term, rather than instant but fading results, you want something that lasts. Okay, let’s say your hair is like a bit of new wood, a sprouting branch on a tree, cosmetic shampoos are like varnish, they make it shiny and smooth, but they would stunt the growth. Vegamour supplements and treatments are like giving your tree some nice compost and a good watering, followed by some wood oil to make it look better, without choking the tree.

I’m very impressed with Vegamour, and know it is a premium priced high end vegan range, it smells great and it works for me. It’s cruelty free so not tested on rabbits or other critters, and I’m very into bunny welfare, as anyone who follows me on Instagram will know. I have also been trying very hard to cut the amount of single use plastics we have in our home, but at least the packaging is recyclable. My only real hesitation to recommend Vegamour is the price, but I am tempted to say that the Gro gummy supplements, and the Gro detoxifying serum are worth the high price tag.

The works….

So what do you think, would you try this high end Vegamour haircare?

I really enjoyed your take on Vegamour’s vegan hair care line! It’s great to see how they combine plant-based ingredients with high-performance results. The commitment to cruelty-free products is definitely a huge plus. Have you tried any other products from their range, and if so, how do they compare?

It sounds like Vegamour has really turned your hair routine into a proper self-care ritual! I’ve been trying to find more ways to carve out that kind of ‘me-time’ lately. While I let my hair treatments soak in, I’ve started using Painting4Real kits. There’s something so meditative about following a guided painting tutorial while your scalp serum does its work. It’s the perfect way to double up on relaxation and creativity!

Great review! I’ve been seeing Vegamour everywhere lately, and it’s helpful to hear that consistency really is the secret. It’s the same with any health journey—whether it’s hair growth or physical wellness, the small daily habits add up. I’ve found that I’m much better at sticking to my active routines when I’m not dealing with foot or back fatigue. Adding Fp insoles europe to my daily shoes has been a total game-changer for my comfort levels, allowing me to stay on my feet and focused on my goals. Thanks for the honest feedback on the serum!

Great review! I’ve been hearing so much about Vegamour lately and it’s helpful to see a real-world perspective on the serum. I’m a big believer in choosing products that prioritize natural quality and authenticity, much like the handcrafted lifestyle pieces found at prairiespirittradingpost. It’s all about finding those reliable staples that actually work. Thanks for the breakdown!

This post and the active comment section are exactly what I needed to read. It’s so easy to let personal care slide when you’re buried in software development projects all week. I try to take long walks to decompress, and adding to my walking shoes really helped my posture and energy. Hearing that this serum only takes a minute to apply makes it so much easier to commit to. Thank you for sharing your results!

I really appreciated your honest take on Vegamour, Julie! It’s refreshing to find a vegan alternative to keratin that actually delivers on texture and strength without that greasy feeling. I completely agree with your ‘compost and watering’ analogy—long-term wellness is always better than a quick cosmetic fix. We take a very similar approach at FP-Australia, focusing on the body’s foundation and long-term alignment rather than just temporary relief. Also, I love that you mentioned bunny welfare; it’s so important to support brands that align with those values. Thanks for such a thorough review!

I really enjoyed your review of Vegamour! It’s so interesting to see how much science is going into hair wellness these days. I’ve been applying that same mindset to my overall physical health—looking for high-tech solutions that actually work. For instance, I’ve been using the impact-absorbing insoles from fpfootwear (https://fpfootwear.com/) to protect my joints during my daily walks. Their shock-absorption technology is incredible for preventing fatigue. It’s all about finding those scientifically-backed tools that help us feel our best! Thanks for the great post.
