Easter extravaganza giveaway 19

Happy March. I’m sure you know Easter is on the way, which means buying chocolate, sweets or bonnet and chick related crafts. I’ve had eggs for my lads since early February, so at least I’ll avoid the rush. So what can you win in our Easter extravaganza? Would you believe it one lucky winner will be walking away with a fantastic £200 worth of Amazon vouchers, while one runner up will get £20, to spend on whatever they want – but chocolate seems like a good idea at this time of year. (If the winner is from a country other than the UK the prize will be delivered via PayPal cash).

Valentine’s on the Cheap 3

Valentine’s on the Cheap – it can be done! On February 14th most of the restaurants and theatres are overcrowded, overpriced and the service is just plain dismal. By staying at home you’ll save the pennies, avoid the crowds and increase your intimacy. Are you dreading the thought of spending yet another Valentine’s Day at home? Well, it doesn’t have to be drab and unimaginative. In fact, if you’re not off to one of the swish function rooms or wedding venues Brisbane or Sydney (or any other major city in Australia), why not plan something special for your Valentine without having to be out of pocket? But remember, these venues still offer your romantic options so you could still opt to go for the swish! Here are some ideas for celebrating a special Valentine’s Day at home. A Picnic by the Fireside Pull the sofa up to a roaring fire, […]

Hotel Chocolat treats – review 3

This is very very very overdue. These chocolates arrived for me before Italy, before the #MMskydive, before camping in Devon. During the summer I’ve been a bad blogger, I have missed so many reviews and posts I was meant to be writing. I was sent 3 different products to try raspberry panacotta, fruit and nut slab, and nuts about coconut selection. It will come as no surprise to friends that I like chocolate, I like almost all chocolate, but even I appreciate the difference when you have high quality chocolate such as Hotel Chocolat. It’s the mutts nuts of confectionary, the Rolls Royce of sweets, and NO I will not share mine. Seriously, those raspberry panacotta ones are so good, they are moreish to the point they could be seen as addictive. I attempted to save one for Blokey, but I couldn’t, it just accidentally got munched. If you fancy […]

Big feet are a big problem 2

As you might know I am a tall lass. As a result of this I have tall feet. Long wide feet. According to the high street shop shelves I am a bit of a freak at size 10. I can only normally get shoes from t’interweb. Sounds great? Loads of choice? Cheaper online? Wrong! Sadly it means I can’t try them on first – and sometimes I find shoesies like these.

Bank holiday weekend as a #MorrisonsMum 8

Last weekend I was lucky enough to get sent some Morrisons shopping vouchers and asked for my opinions on Morrisons prices, quality and the experience as a whole. Morrisons were extremely generous and sent hundreds of blogging parents shopping vouchers, so we could all give them a go, and look out for the “I’m Cheaper” logos. To be honest we normally shop elsewhere, but with a new store open in Gloucester this was the perfect excuse to go to M instead.

Win (ended)- A beautiful pair of hare earrings from LaJewellery 24

When I saw that La Jewellery wanted to work with eco-conscious bloggers to run a competition for their readers I hopped jumped at the chance. La Jewellery make lovely items with good ethics and a consideration for the environment. What’s not to like?! Technically this lovely window display is full of hares, but I’m thinking bunnies – Easter Bunnies, and I am hoping the winner replies in two shakes of a rabbit’s tail (quick) so that the lovely prize will pop through your letter box before Easter. Lets face it, lovely jewellery is going to last longer than a chocolate egg or bunny.

Thoughtful Valentine’s gift 6

I am not keen on overly commercial, over priced cards, or flowers. Instead I am making Blokey a gift. Its no secret that I can’t cook, in fact I go to basic cookery lessons. So I am making chocolates. I have some super strong Co-op fairtrade 85% cocoa dark chocolate, and some Cadbury DM fruit and nut. They are like the opposites, the Co-op being a coniseurs type, where you feel sick if you eat too much as its so rich. The DM is like comfort, its not too posh, not to cheap and its easy to eat all of it. I figure a mixture of these makes perfection. Like sweetness and bitterness, too posh versus normal.

Winning Weekends (10-13 January) 2

Happy Friday compers and bloggers, Please linky up blog competitions below, they can be your own blog comps, or just ones you have seen online and thought “that’s awesome, but not for me”. Maybe a friend is having a blog giveaway/contest for boys things, but your kiddies are girls. Perhaps it’s a chocolate competition and you are a devoted dieter? Linky it up 😉 I don’t really have rules for this but this is for UK competitions please, and I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “25/2 win your favourite perfume – blogtitle” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. End dates are great because if it’s got a long date it might be worth adding to next weekends as well and it’s also good to know what the prize is before trying to win it. I will try to add a […]
