For me, antique jewellery is something I’ve aspired to owning. I always hoped that things would get handed down through the family, but I only have the one hand-me-down. My Nan’s engagement ring. It is basic, and my Granddad used to joke about how cheap it was, and that the wedding ring got thrown in free. It’s not worth much on paper, understated and plain, but to me it is priceless. It’s the story, the love in this ring – truly irreplaceable. #Ad – this post is for Carus Jewellery. The words and opinions are mine, the images are by Carus jewellery. The jewellery I remember older relatives wearing was bold. It was huge, twinkly and eye catching. I love retro clothing, so antique jewellery would be so me. A big petticoated 50s swing dresses, with nylons and a massive chunky bit of garnet jewellery. Nice! Almost everything my Nan […]
This might (or might not) be handy if you are looking for gift ideas for you Mum, wife or a girl friend. Some of these presents are things I want, some are things I already have. When I saw that La Jewellery wanted to work with eco-conscious bloggers to run a competition for their readers I hopped jumped at the chance. La Jewellery make lovely items with good ethics and a consideration for the environment. What’s not to like?! Technically this lovely window display is full of hares, but I’m thinking bunnies – Easter Bunnies, and I am hoping the winner replies in two shakes of a rabbit’s tail (quick) so that the lovely prize will pop through your letter box before Easter. Lets face it, lovely jewellery is going to last longer than a chocolate egg or bunny.
Hello readers, This competition has ended, and the winner is announced below. Today I’m offering you a chance to win. I know it’s not December yet, but I’m trying to get some presents sorted early. I was offered the chance to have a set of these cufflinks from RING to review but instead I am offering them to you, my readers. They are worth around £30 and would be a lovely gift for a male relative. Perhaps add a photo of the family, or of their pet, maybe their initials? You can have them made in gold or silver coloured metal, I prefer the silver colour myself. Classic, yet contemporary and goes with almost any colour, whereas the gold tones can clash with some fabrics. They are proud of the celeb feedback they’ve received, a couple are footballers, not that I “do” football. It’s still all about the Rugby and […]
I was asked by StyleInView to have a peek at the website and make myself a “Yummy Mummy” look. So I’ve been having a fiddle about and made an outfit. Think funky school run Mummy. I would so wear this, and I have a pair of purple Doc Martens similar to these. Julie’s Yummy Mummy Look. Powered by Styleinview.co.uk It took me moments to make an account, but a bit longer finding items I liked. The site is dead easy to use. You can register for free here: www.styleinview.co.uk/ by clicking on the ‘register’ button in the top right corner. Then you just click on ‘Get the Look’ and then ‘Create a Look’ and follow the instruction. I’ve gone for weird but cool flocked trousers, a classy black and white knit, and a white top underneath, as I’m always too hot or too cold, got to have layers ladies eh? […]
