Hello Harry 10

Today this happened. My neighbour wrote on Facebook earlier “young guinea pig, free to good home”. For a little while I’ve been considering getting a pal for Patch rabbit. Patch is mega old, about 10 years old. According to the posters in the pet shops rabbits live until about 6 years old, erm? Anyhow Patch hates other rabbits, I have introduced him to seven other rabbits over the years, he hated all of them but he tolerated our elderly guinea pig, Dotty, who passed away a while ago now.

#MMraffle The big skydive fundraiser raffle 58

Alrighty then, here goes. If you are unaware I am doing a charity skydive in memory of Matilda Mae you must be a new reader here, so Hiya and welcome. I mention it quite often on Twitter and Facebook that I am trying hard to fundraise. Sadly my donations haven’t taken off yet, so I’m trying something else.   UPDATED – I have changed the donatition link in the Rafflecopter form to support Claire as I have reached the £400 I needed to reach. Sadly Claire hasn’t yet. All entries made via my donation page are still valid of course. The only change is where future donations end up. Also the lovely Lucy has a super-fast last minute raffle going on, same principal, make a small donation and you could win something. We are all working as a team to try to help each other raise money. A MAHOOOOSIVE charity raffle. […]

Win (ended)- A beautiful pair of hare earrings from LaJewellery 24

When I saw that La Jewellery wanted to work with eco-conscious bloggers to run a competition for their readers I hopped jumped at the chance. La Jewellery make lovely items with good ethics and a consideration for the environment. What’s not to like?! Technically this lovely window display is full of hares, but I’m thinking bunnies – Easter Bunnies, and I am hoping the winner replies in two shakes of a rabbit’s tail (quick) so that the lovely prize will pop through your letter box before Easter. Lets face it, lovely jewellery is going to last longer than a chocolate egg or bunny.

I am Jumping again – #MMskydive2014 10

I cried and screamed last time, but I have signed up to do it again. Hayley didn’t even force me 😉 In August we will be skydiving for Matilda Mae, time may pass, but we have not forgotten. We will not let Tilda be forgotten. All money raised is going to the Lullaby Trust, as it did last year, and I truly hope our crazy fundraising has helped to save a little life or maybe a few? So today I opened a new JustGiving page, and am after your support, donations or even just your tweets? There is a team page, Team Matilda 2014. There is not much info yet on the pages, as we are being added to the team page one at a time as each member makes a new page. Bare with us, or pop back next week to see whose in? The lullaby trust try to prevent […]

Shloer Crafternoon Tea and WIN (ended) a Bottle 30

Recently I attended Shloer’s brilliant blogger event “crafternoon tea”. It was cakes and posh sandwiches, coffee and crafting with a whole lot of Shloer. Fabulous idea! A lovely dinning room in a posh hotel, and the Makery were teaching us how to make homemade hearts as Christmas tree decorations from ribbons and small bits of fabrics, and buttons and things. I made 2 hearts when I was with Shloer, and now I’m tempted to upcycle old clothing into gifts. Who wouldn’t want a homemade tree decoration made with love by a friend or relative? If only I had a sewing machine, I’d be dangerous!

Make Up For Kids? 6

Did you wear make up too young? I know I did, by 11 years old I was hiding myself behind the make up. I felt ugly, and had to cover acne. These days I still can’t go out without at least foundation. I am covering acne scars and other scars. Girls as young as ten are feeling the pressure to wear make-up. According to recent findings by leading UK based beauty and cosmetics retailer Fragrance Direct. Are our children under pressure to grow up too quickly? Fragrance Direct, a leading UK based beauty and cosmetics retailer, conducted a survey of 1,600 of their Facebook fans to get their view.

Are Smart TVs Too Smart Now?

When I was a kid, TVs were very basic, a few buttons or tuning knobs. It was on-off, channel and volume. No record, save, rewind, pause, I understood the new bits like rewind and fast forwards when they first came in, and it was great. I think now though it has got to a point where TVs are a bit too flipping SMART! It’s like the TV is secretly laughing at me, as I am one of the many parents who get their children to do the set up bits on the goggle box. I’m no technophobe (obviously as I’ve got this blog) but the TV baffles me. So many menus and buttons, and functions I do not understand. In fact the little wall mounted LED TV I bought my partner for Christmas is worse, it has all kinds of functions I can not use, it is almost a pc, […]

National Stalking Awareness Day #NSAD2013

Check out StalkingHelpline.org for advice Today is National Stalking Awareness Day, or #NSAD2013 if you’re on twitter today. I wanted to post again on stalking as its been a while since I posted my own stalking experience, and that post is a few pages back now. As well as the stalking helpline website I have also found a useful site called Digital Stalking, and they have advice for staying safe online including tips on Facebook privacy settings. Another Anti-Stalking site is ProtectionAgainstStalking.org/, not a catchy URL that, but they are on twitter as @EndToStalking which should be easier to remember. These days stalking is a crime, if you want to talk to someone please call 0808 802 0300 or if you are in danger always call 999. Don’t stay quiet, help is there. Here is an AudioBoo posted by Thames Valley police, its a stalking victim talking about her experience. […]
