Dog Phobia Fixed 2

Thanks to my nice therapist, Doctor Dave as I call him, my dog phobia has gone. I’m only worried by potentially dangerous dogs, dogs snarling and pulling on their leads. I’ve been asking strangers “can I stroke your dog” a lot more, previously this was my son Jen’s nagging, “mummy can we see that woofer?” “OK Jen, ask it’s grown up if it’s ok first”, “no, mummy, you ask”. I’ve not been crossing the road to avoid people’s pets, I’ve been able to deal with them the same as most other grown ups do. As I adore animals, the desire to rehome has kicked in now I’m not terrified by them. When I was younger my rescued mongrel runt, Ben, saved my life. There is definitely a bond between me and stray/rescued pets. Maybe they see it in my eyes I’ve suffered abuse when I was young myself, perhaps they […]

Retail Royalty Challenge – Helping Charity for Free 4

When I read that MoneySuperMarket wanted to give bloggers £30 to spend on a local charity, I jumped at the chance. The idea is us bloggers get a budget of £30 (given to us by MoneySuperMarket for this challenge) but we have to try to buy more than £30’s worth of gifts or items that your local charity would like. Maximum benefit of the cash if you like! They’ve called this the #RetailRoyaltyChallenge and the winner gets a massive Harrods hamper, which I wouldn’t mind but to help a charity for free, I already feel like a winner. I decided that I wanted to help Cheltenham Animal Shelter (I’m abbreviating to CAS), you might have noticed I do love my pets, all six of them! I had a look around the Cheltenham Animal Shelter website : gawa.org.uk and discovered they had an Amazon Wishlist so had a look through at what I […]

Please, bag it and bin it

#CleanUpAfterDogs Today I’ve been having a bit of a rant about dogs poo. I’m fed up of other peoples pet poo in my garden, and on the path next to my house. It’s taking the pee! There is currently THREE lots of dogs mess and one lot of cats mess in my front garden. Then a huge heap on the path that links my front door to the back of the house, where the road is. I’m not being quiet anymore – please dog owners, get it picked up. “Keep Britain Tidy” have free posters and stickers about various campaigns, and I’ve requested the posters and bin stickers that mention the “Poo Fairy”. The posters will go on my downstairs windows and I’m going to staple one to my fence in a poly-pocket so the dog owning neighbours go past it. The stickers are going on local bins, but also […]
