Playing outdoors in the cold. 1

Last week Jen and I went to the park for a picnic… thing is I had promised him a trip to the big park (pittville park in Cheltenham) and as luck would have it it was freezing, about minus 4 degrees on my day off. Still, a promise had been made, it took 2 buses and over an hour but he had fun. We had ourselves a picnic in the park, sitting in the drivers cab of the toy train we had sausage rolls, frubes, fruit muffins and some fresh mushrooms (he eats those instead of fruit). Then we had a bit of a play, pushing on the swings and the usual sort of stuff. At the top of the park are a few large animal cages. We went to say hello to the bunnies, peacocks, chickens, budgies and chipmunks. Jen was keen on those “stripey squirrels”, then we went […]

Slightly overdue… Australia 2

A month ago I landed back in Blighty after going to the land down under. Well I think I will honestly struggle to get across how much I loved it, and how I truly miss the place after such a fleeting visit. I soooooooo want to go back, I wish I could. On 4th November I took off from Heathrow, after a minor strop about Qantas seating plans…. my second holiday via plane, and they’d put me alone… away from my friend. Cue me, stamping, crying and talking to myself. I’m not a brat, but was stressful having the ITV DayBreak cameras there, emotions were getting out of hand. Qantas had little choice, I was stood ON my seat until a reshuffle took place. :-/ my Mate Jacki stayed calm, fair play to her, I know I’m annoying! It was hours and hours of flying.. we arrived in Sydney late […]

Hello from the Great Outdoors

Hello bloggers. Well here I am writing from my tent again.Today we went to Porthcothan beach (Padstow ish if you care to check a map). We adore this beach. It’s got RNLI lifeguards on the beach all day, they are very reassuring to see when you are on the beach with small folk. So today we were going to have a packed lunch on beach, totally disrupted by wasps. Lucky my son was paying more attention than me, a wasps landed on edge of my sarnie as I was busy talking between bites. So glad little Jenny yelled “Mummy no, its got a waspy on it” or I would likely be in local hospital. I’m not properly allergic, but I do swell significantly and a sting in mouth/throat area would affect breathing. That’ll teach me to talk so much eh? After lunch we zipped everything into my lovely camouflage Gelert pop-up tent […]
