Back to school, and first day!

Well today D went back to school, which was a relief for him and us to be honest. During school holidays he gets so bored and angry, he becomes very hard to cope with. Little Jen on the other hand starts school on Monday morning. I find this odd, as its the same school. Jen wants to go to school very much, and I think he will enjoy it but I’m also concerned is he as smart as his peers? Will he be bullied? I remember clearly, D could write many words, and short sentences before he started school and has always shown a huge talent for maths. Jen can’t write although does attempt some names, mummy, daddy etc. He gets his name nearly correct by saying it so slow he breaks it down, and then gets all the constentents right but not the vowels. Is that normal for a […]

One evil job application down…

It’s taken a few days, but thanks to lots of help from Hubby, for which I owe him “favours”, the Tesco job application is done. I really do need a new job now, I’ve been trying hard to get a more suitable job or career for around 8 months, maybe more. It’s got to a stage where I’ve nothing to look forwards to, as even days off are overshadowed by the dread of going back to work the next day. If I don’t find a job soon I am very tempted to ask my doctors to sicknote me, sign me off for depression. I’ve had depression for years, mostly ignored and untreated. If they give me one of those questionaires about happiness I would fail, when did you last laugh? How often do you cry? Do you have friends? If you don’t know the questionaire consider yourself lucky. X Would […]

Reminising on Florida 5

As many of you know, I travelled in May this year to Florida, Orlando. This was the first time I had ever flown, anywhere, not even a small local flight, nothing! As a mummy of two, in a shop job, I can not afford holidays abroad, we normally go camping. So when my son won this holiday I went mental, crying and hardly slept for a week!!! All he had to do in return for winning was write a review for First News about the holiday. Having never been in these situtations before, the idea of American passport control was scary – people say such negative things about them! And then there was other things to worry about, like actually buying our passports first! It was a family trip, all four of us, to the Portofino Loews hotel, inside the Universal studios resort. A far cry from camping I can […]

What if.. 2

My friends got me thinking tonight, “what if” and other deep pondering. Not that this comes over well in what I write, I think at 100 miles an hour, but can only type at 5mph! What if I hadn’t met my OH? What if I’d chatted about whips and chains to a different guy or girl in Yates bar that day? I feel I’ve failed as a mummy if I’m honest….. I love them immensely but should I be a mother? I can’t cook, shite at house work, my toddler is clingy and my eldest is distant, aggressive and bullies me if we are alone. My “doctor” wants me to think back through my past and try to pin down when my fear of bleeding to death and phobia of needles (and anything medical that might end up with needles) started, he asked me for family photos from the age […]
