Little Jen on the other hand starts school on Monday morning. I find this odd, as its the same school.
Jen wants to go to school very much, and I think he will enjoy it but I’m also concerned is he as smart as his peers? Will he be bullied?
I remember clearly, D could write many words, and short sentences before he started school and has always shown a huge talent for maths. Jen can’t write although does attempt some names, mummy, daddy etc. He gets his name nearly correct by saying it so slow he breaks it down, and then gets all the constentents right but not the vowels. Is that normal for a boy just turned 4?
In recent months Jen’s health has been a problem, as following a toilet incident decided he was frightened of the loo, and then refuses to eat as he figured out you poo less if you eat less. Unfortunately he’s extended this fear beyond toilets alone, and is funny about food and drink and now bed wets at least 3 times a week. We’ve had to put him in nappies at night, but this isn’t a cure as he holds it in so long a nappy simply won’t hold all the liquid.
Doctors aren’t fussed, even though he’s losing weight and has a very restricted diet, self imposed, but we still try to give him sensible food.
Maybe the routine of school will fix this? Seeing other boys don’t have food issues and have no fear of the loo. Well, I’m hoping so!
When D first started school he was happy, smart and confident. No problems at all, until bullying of course.
So that’s one first day out of the way, then I need to except my little boy is now a big boy and will be going to big boy school. Of course this will be much easier to accept once my child-minder bill shrinks in a month or so.
