Winning Weekends 4

Welcome to my second #WinningWeekend linky. The idea is link up any blog competitions you may be running, and more people will see your competition and enter. It also means followers of Julie’s Notebook have a few chances to win each weekend! In fact I won two prizes from the competitions linked up last week.   The “rules” will be simple, linky up a competition from your own blog or a friends blog (and host a badge if you want to). That’s it! You don’t have to comment, you don’t even have to enter anyone else’s contests and competitions. Just linky up. Pretty please make sure you only linky up competitions/contests is open to the UK and will be open until Monday or later. If you have a competition that runs a few weeks, pop back next week if you like.

Budget Bucket List 3

Money supermarket have another blogger challenge competition running. The budget bucket list. Well I heard about this and wanted to join in. I intended to write this post before my skydive, as the MSM logo for this challenge shows a happy, calm skydiver. Skydiving could have been on my bucket list, but not anymore! I’ve done it, I really did it.   So new ideas! Extravagant I would love to swim with dolphins. In Australia. I went to Aussie a few years ago and I utterly fell in love with the place. One of the things we were meant to do was go swimming with Dolphins, near Adelaide. The day before we were due to go out on the boat, a horrible note was pushed under the hotel door, and under the doors of the rest of the group we were with. It said that as bad weather was reported for the next […]

WIN ended – Various Raffle Prizes In Support Of #MMskydive 19

As I might have previously mentioned, I am skydiving in memory of Matilda with 8 other Mummies very soon. Matilda Mae was nine months old, I thought “cot death” only takes tiny newborns. Sadly that’s not true. If you are a new parent please please visit the LullabyTrust website and check out the advice bits. Information like this can save little lives. In an attempt to push up my online donations, and to help the Lullaby Trust as much as possible, I am going to raffle off items of my own. These are things I have bought, and items that I as a blogger, have been given for attending conferences or writing certain posts. Anything I can to increase the #MMskydive total with #TeamMatildaMae  as currently my page has the least donations. I’m not giving up though! I will be keeping my eyes peeled in shops for nice little prizes […]

30 ways to save £1 4

I noticed Jax from Liveotherwise blog about this great competition from Money supermarket and knew I had to enter. It’s called 30 ways to save £1, and the great thing about this competition isn’t the huge prize money, it is that they will give you £1 per tip, if you publish your own post on this topic before 17th of May, so what are you waiting for? Pounds, Quid, gold pieces, dosh! The first tip has to be, enter this competition yourself as soon as you have read this post! Always make sure you use the food with the shortest dates first. Throwing out a few items a week could cost you several pounds. Wash your laundry at 30 degrees when you can to save a little bit in electric bills. Try to save a little bit of gas and water (so dosh too) by shortening you shower by 10 seconds […]

Review: Your Image 2 Canvas 3

I was very happy to be contacted and asked if I would review a photo on canvas company. Brilliant timing as I was considering buying some canvas prints of my boys as I haven’t printed anything for such a long time. The downside to digital media. When I checked out the YourImage2Canvas.co.uk website I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, not only were many of the canvases reduced but they also had a 3 for 2 offer on.This meant I got a Medium and 2 smaller canvases for under £50 which is amazing. The 3 for 2 finished on 15th of February I’m afraid. re is another cracking offer on their website though, I know a lot of my online friends like competitions too so have a peek here upload a favourite photo for a chance to win £150 of vouchers! I did enter myself whilst I was there with a […]

Why did I have to go to paradise eh?

Since returning from Australia everything here seems so boring, dull, pointless, and outright COLD. Is it bad that after just a single week there I’m totally hooked on the place? My nickname has been Roo since I was a baby, family reasons…. but since I landed back in Blighty I’ve worn my Aussie Roo necklace everyday. I don’t even take it off to sleep. I honestly CRY at programs or adverts about the land down under now, and find myself “window shopping” travel websites. It’s surely not right to miss it so very much is it? There’s nothing like Austrailia, NO KIDDING. In my heart I think I have emigrated there already! In reality I doubt I’ll ever go again, possibly after we retire in a few decades. It’s only the cost stopping me, you would not believe how many Aussie holiday competitions I’ve entered since going there, but does […]

Ok, so I’m not much of a blogger but

Now that I’m getting the hang of blogging, mainly by stalking twitter friends blogs I am getting more confident at this. I thought I’d have a little waffle, if this is OK with you guys? As you might know, as I hobby I comp. For those of you that don’t know “comp” or “comping” is entering competitions as a hobby, for profit, for the thrill or just because you’ve nowt better to do… which is how my addiction to comping started incidentally. In Feb 2011 we had a phone call from first news (children’s newspaper) about a competition my eldest had entered. It was quite a shock, and cried, was shaking, the LOT. He had won us a weeks holiday to Universal theme parks in Florida!! Gobsmacked and shell shocked didn’t begin to cover it. I was assured I would hear from Universal within a week, and that’s where the stress […]
