I can’t wait meet my girls when I get home. Why isn’t it 4.30 yet? Dear blog readers, please meet Tikka and Fajita. Photos were texted to me by my Hubby, he’s working late today. The top photo is them in my garden, and the bottom photo is both of them borrowing Dotty’s indoor hutch, sat in the boot of our car. Look happy enough don’t they 🙂 Cute and useful, although I doubt we will get eggs for a week or so until they settle in. They have a little box with run attached, but on warmer nicer days we will let them roam freely. My son Jenny has a love of chickens, and he’s go to be so happy when I pick him up from the childminder, I’m going to try not to let it slip on the way home… the super excited little grin is worth waiting […]

On Saturday we went into the pet shop just to buy rabbit food. There was a kids hugging session with a “small animal” due in a few mins time, so my boys loitered. Out came an old guinea pig called Dotty. She was up for adoption, and I heard the shop lady mention no body wanted her. She has a problem with her eyes, but I don’t care. It apparently will mean her eyes are permanently damaged, but their vets say nothing can be done now, was caused by previous owners, although I wasn’t told how. This means she’s cute and ugly at the same time. Four years old is oldddd for a guinea pig though, I think the average life span for a pet piggy is five years old. Little Jen has been banging on about Lewis Hamilton’s character in Cars 2. He watches the DVD about once a week, has has been know to sleep hugging a Cars jigsaw puzzle! Definately the boys favourite film. There is a small set of toy cars at around £4 to £5, similar sizing to Hot Wheels but not quite. Jen already has Lightening McQueen, Mater and Francesco… but had seen Lewis in photos on the back of other cars packaging. He really wanted Lewis, but seems he was rare. I had never seen one “in the flesh” until this weekend. I had read other cars fans in Twitter struggling to get a Lewis car. @f1_LewisFan I’m looking at you! Hello, A twitter friend has this neat little blog link up called “magpie Monday” where you show each other what amazing bargains you’ve found that week. Not tesco bargains, real thrifty shopping. This week I’m proud of myself as I got some lovely jams and chutentys for 20p a small jar, and 50p for the large jars in a charity table-top sale. Basically I work in a shop and they were raising money for a certain Pink cancer charity. They were selling homemade cakes (over priced but I really wanted one, ok two) and also had “damaged” unsellable stock. So you know those lovely Mrs Bridges Jam jars you see in cute gift sets, when something is out of date like the bicuits the jams are still in date, but the barcode was for the SET so they can’t sell the seperate jars.
