Bunny Bother 6

Just over a week ago we welcomed Bart and Mo into our home. Two super cute fluffy boys. Over the last three days Bart has been acting, well, teenage! Stamping, scent marking everything, even weeing on poor Mo. Until yesterday I really had no reason to doubt they were both males, then I thought “Hmmm Mo is letting Bart be the boss” so I had a close look underneath. Bart is a big boy if you catch my drift. Mo’s “bits” wasn’t obviously male or female. Oh heck! So today during a huggle I notice Mo is a bit more chubby, so I stroke gently across Mo’s belly. It’s swollen and firm near Mo’s back legs. Mo isn’t a dude, she’s a dudette.I’ve booked them both into the vets for a check over… But I’m 90% certain I have a mini-bunny-family rather than two best buddies. Just need to make […]

The Daxon £200 Outfit Challenge 2

I love these blogger challenges, Daxon has asked members of its blogger network (see my badge on the toolbar?) to try to make a nice outfit for under £200. Mine comes in at £197 or £199.95 including delivery not bad going I thought. The best bit, one of the Daxon bloggers who have a go at this challenge will win the outfit they have chosen. I never get to spend money on clothes so I’m up for it… First thing I decided was that I wanted it to be a Spring look. The British weather didn’t get the Memo that went round that Winter should be over! Hint Hint. Anyways…. I’ve done for a grey-ish and pale brown theme here, and I would wear this lot together. I started with Capri jeans, I liked the quirky finishing at the bottoms. Also they are in a tall range, so they won’t […]

B-Sensible Sheets Review and Competition (Ended) 121

As I’ve mentioned Jen is bed wetting at the moment. He’s four and a half, nearly five now so hopefully this stage will be over soon. I was using plastic sheets until recently. Jen had a meltdown about the crinkly crunchy noise it makes. He refused to go to his bed, sleeping on the floor. When he wet himself sleeping on my sheepskin rug on my bedroom floor that was the final straw! Worse than a wet dog smell. The lovely B-Sensible folks* have sent me a single fitted sheet to review. These sheets are meant to be comfortable, breathable yet still waterproof, and silent in use. We will see!If you did want to buy one of these sheets after reading my blog you can buy them at Luxury bedding products. To win one you will see the competition at the end of this post. COMPETITION ENDED.When I took the sheet […]

Personalised Reward Charts, A review 2

After deciding I was playing strict with the boys recently, I found out about a lovely reward chart site, called Personalised Reward Charts. There were a few different background designs but I went with the Pirate one, and had a photo of both boys put on it. It’s well laminated and came with a dry wipe pen and some star stickers. You can have the days of the week pre printed on it too, but I preferred not to then we can start mid week if we like. The charts are a very reasonable £3, and mine arrived in just a few days. There are lots of designs, football, cartoon dinosaurs, the pirates one we chose and girlie ones such as butterflies and princesses.I wrote down the tasks I’m hoping he does more often, and as the bribery I have offered him a Lightening McQueen model car he really wants. The […]

Why I adore the blogging community 4

Just look at Twitter tonight. Check out #MatildaMae and see the massive love and respect when one of “our own” suffers a loss. Here is an extremely moving tribute video by Jennie This is so sad, her cute cheeky little smile. Such a sweet girl, you will cry. Everywhere I look I’m seeing this avatar, people that know Jennie’s story and people that are just learning of it tonight. The reason we are all doing this? To support a family in a very sad time in their life. Tomorrow Jennie, her husband David and their twins lay MM to rest. It’s her funeral, a life suddenly taken, without warning. It’s heart-breaking, and unfair to be honest. It touched so many parents, with many of us hugging their mini-me’s more often since reading the tragic news. So many of us, all desperate to help them, wanting to change things for this […]

Trying Very Hard

Little Jen as I recently mentioned might look cute but he is making bedtime hell in this house. Most nights Jen refuses to go to bed, sleeping anywhere except his bed. Most nights this means he’s asleep on the sofa after an argument. If I get him into bed chances are he will cry in the night and come into my room… Then there’s the bed wetting. Yup, that’s still going on! In the battle of wills, he definitely inherited my stubbornness, and often he wins not me. I’m getting tough now though, I have a nice man who has been visiting me to help improve my parenting skills. He is teaching me how to keep chilled even when the boys are throwing strops. The social worker suggested he come and help me, and yay! When Jen gets out of bed in the middle of the night sometimes I even […]

The Little One is Going Through Another Stage. 2

Dear little Jen is refusing to sleep in his bed, so we’ve been refusing to hug, chat or anything after a few efforts to get him to his bed. Here he is last night… Asleep on my stairs. And earlier in the week he made a blanket nest instead of getting in bed… And here he is in his bedroom doorway! Anyone know why he is doing this? It’s not cute like the photos. It’s actually rather annoying he can sleep anywhere unless its at bed time and in his bed. :-/ We tried reward charts for behaving at bed time, we tried taking away favourite toys or time limits on them for being naughty, we’ve tried ignoring it but he goes on hours. And when he eventually gets to bed we are all tired and grumpy, then to make it more fun there is bed wetting thrown in. Struggling […]

The Tale of Benjamin Bunny 2

Today after the school run I went to Coop to buy milk and bread. On my way back things got a little weird. Near school a mum is walking towards me with a large white and black rabbit, with papillon markings. He was adorable but was obvious this lady was clearly not known to the bunny, you could see this on his face. Calm and friendly but not at home. I stop her and ask is bunny lost. I was concerned for a moment might have been my Patch rabbit as he was the right size, age and markings on him were almost identical to Patch. I realised it wasn’t him, not enough white on his nose triangle, phew! My boy wasn’t in danger. 🙂 The other mum asks me what I know about this bunny and I explain nothing but I was just concerned for him.The lady keeps talking. […]

Snowy Pet Photos 1

Well it’s snowing outside and it’s currently circling and swirling in the wind. This blizzard that’s predicted might actually happen. Sadly the boys school was one of just two primary schools that didn’t close. Just waiting for the “please pick children up early” text message now. It’s pretty likely as I noticed several teachers were missing. The boys were disappointed. Anyway, cute animals in the snow photos time! Frozen chickens and a chilly bunny. Cute bunny, he’s put himself in chicken run, he is actually free range today.

Tikka And Fajita Are Pushing Their Luck… 1

The chickens and the less than friendly bunny have had lots of time to get acquainted but only this week have they been allowed free range at the same time. Until now the bunny has been free in the evening and night times, and the chicks have been loose by daylight. They’ve been giving it a bit of attitude through the cage wire. It’s weird that now I’m letting them loose at the same time there have been no major fights and no blood shed whatsoever! If you knew Patch rabbit you would realise this is shocking. 😛 Ignoring the mess that my garden is in I think these photos are pretty cute. Patch rabbit is Letting the girls steal his food. Almost ignoring it. Awww the cute bunny is mellowing in his old age. He’s watching the chickens closely but resisted the urge to run and steal his food […]

Traditional Christmas games.. 2

The other evening I snapped a lovely couple of photos of my boys, during a rare occurrence, we were all playing family games together. Sadly the smiles didn’t last long, Jen had a temper tantrum and ran off saying was unfair, despite him majorly wining. He had thousands, we only had a couple of hundred notes each, and he had properties with hotels! Was cute, while it lasted.

ClaireaBella classic review for ToxicFox

Hello readers, This week in the post I received a beautiful ClaireaBella bag from ToxicFox.co.uk It is a jute  mini-shopper bag, that has some kind of coating making it feel stronger but you can hardly see it at first. It has a delightful blonde girl painted on to the front, with glitter in the paint of her dress and hair. I like the little details, like the adorable little metal heart that says “HAND MADE WITH LOVE”. Also love the pink bows, normally I’m not a girlie girl, but this is pretty darn cute. The ClaireaBella bags are famous for being personalised, this one is not as it is for review purposes. I would love to get one of these as a pressie, and my first thought was I know loads of young ladies that will want to pinch this from me! I love it!! The only downside I see is […]
