Its been hard to get my boys outside lately. Jen was unwell, it looked very much like it was scarlet fever but luckily the rash and temperature faded away. He was off of school 4 days, and hardly stepped outside the whole time. Except the trip to A&E, the silly lad swallowed a metal marble from Mouse Trap board game! Since we got chickens my garden has been a mess. They scratch and dig and peck so much it is like a desert of dust out there. I got bored of trying to keep it as a nice flower and veggie patch, and planted fruit bushes and trees. At ground level I dug in hundreds of bulbs and put lots of grass seed down, I do mean lots as I’ve done it several times. Those chickens are brutal plant murders I tells ya! Nothing grows. Until now…..

Yesterday we went to visit Blokey’s Grandad. He is a very elderly chap, who had a stroke a few years back so whenever we go round he’s always in his chair. The boys can’t remember him pre-stroke so they struggle a bit. I remember him being a bit chattier so I understand his speech. Although the kids like the great grandparents they do act like caged animals when we leave their house. Too much sitting still and behaving! So afterwards we went for a muck about at the park. It was a hot sunny day, so ice cream and a walk about the pond. This soon turned into chucking sticks into the water, then pebbles. A bit of tree climbing. Fishing out clumps of fish eggs or frog spawn using long twigs, but carefully so we didn’t kill anything, and we put it back in the same place we found […]
On Friday Jen went to school as the dark night for book week. He was throwing a teddy bat around outside and it got stuck, up the tree! Look at the face he’s pulling. After I took this photo I had to climb up the tree and free Batty. Linking with #MySundayPhoto on one dad 3 girls blog.
