Winning Weekends (25-28 October) 4

Happy Friday compers and bloggers, Please linky up blog competitions below, they can be your own blog comps, or just ones you have seen online and thought “that’s awesome, but not for me”. Maybe a friend is having a blog giveaway/contest for wallpaper, but you’ve just decorated? Maybe it’s a “mummy” prize and you aren’t a parent? Could be you’ve seen an awesome prize for a pet, and you don’t have four legged friends? Linky it up 😉 I don’t really have rules for this but this is for UK competitions please, and I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “12/12 Win your favourite sweets – blogtitle” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. End dates are great because if it’s got a long date it might be worth adding to next weekends as well and it’s also good to know what […]

Winning Weekends (18-21 October)

Winning weekends is four weeks old now. Have you won anything? Or did it increase traffic and entries to you blog contests? Let me know if it’s worked well for you. Please linky up blog competitions below, they can be your own blog comps, or just ones you have seen online and thought “that’s awesome, but not for me”. Maybe a friend is having a blog giveaway/contest for blonde shampoo, but you’re a brunette? Maybe it’s a “mummy” prize and you aren’t a parent? Could be you’ve seen an awesome prize for a dog owner, and you have no pets? Linky it up 😉 I don’t really have rules for this but this is for UK competitions please, and I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “12/12 Win your favourite sweets – blogtitle” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. End dates are […]

Winning Weekends

Well it’s in to it’s third week already. Please linky up some nice blog competitions below, they can be your own blog comps, or just ones you fancy sharing. I don’t really have rules for this but I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “12/12 Win your favourite sweets – blogname” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. I, as before, will try to add a few competitions to the linky myself. Hopefully when (if) this linky takes off properly it will mean that bloggers can quickly link up their posts, and maybe grab a badge to show support, and compers can find a few nice competitions they might have missed really simply. Even if you aren’t a “comper” as such, you might just fancy a quick entry on a few competitions if you are feeling lucky today. Go on, share the love […]

Toiletries Rant 6

What is it with (some) men and toiletries? I currently have no shampoo as apparently it’s the same thing as shower gel. No, no it is not. One is designed to clean hair, one to clean skin. Skin is alive, hair is dead from the moment it leaves your scalp. It’s not the flipping same, it.is.not. And yes, it annoyed me! I would have had qualifications in this if I wasn’t skint as a late teen. I did hairdressing, don’t tell me something I *know* isn’t true. It properly winds me up…. So I saved this until Friday just to join in with Mummy Barrow’s ranty Friday, then I don’t seem like a serial complainer. Please, people, donate shampoo to me. I’ve got loads of shower gel, and zero shampoo. I’d love to fill the bath full of shampoo in a dirty clean protest. I am not washing my hair […]

Winning Weekends 4

Welcome to my second #WinningWeekend linky. The idea is link up any blog competitions you may be running, and more people will see your competition and enter. It also means followers of Julie’s Notebook have a few chances to win each weekend! In fact I won two prizes from the competitions linked up last week.   The “rules” will be simple, linky up a competition from your own blog or a friends blog (and host a badge if you want to). That’s it! You don’t have to comment, you don’t even have to enter anyone else’s contests and competitions. Just linky up. Pretty please make sure you only linky up competitions/contests is open to the UK and will be open until Monday or later. If you have a competition that runs a few weeks, pop back next week if you like.

Upcycling Small Bath Towels 11

We have lots of bath towels but as my eldest son, D is the size of a small adult these days there is never a big towel in the airing cupboard. And several smaller child sized towels that never get used. I’m going to make my towels bigger, oh yes I AM. I have done this in the past but back then I had a sewing machine. This could take some time. These towels are very eco, they are wombled. They were left near the washing up sinks at a campsite we were on, and staff were about to bin them. So they went in our wet laundry bag until we returned home. I hate waste, and I love reusing, reducing and recycling. They of course got a jolly hot wash, and tumble at home.
