Today I was at Blog On Cymru in Cardiff. This meant I was up early for a weekend, but was worth the effort for the goody bag alone but that is another post. The best thing today was Lucy teaching me some photography skills, and it appears I have a bit of a natural talent for “staged flat lay photography”. I’ll share a few images here and I would love your opinions please.
It seems “point and shoot” photography is not what I should do, not when I can set up fabulous shots like the ones above.
Time to get a props box I thong, no more dull, boring, poorly lit images in reviews. Okay my “action” photography will still be awful average looking but Lucy you’ve inspired me my dear. I want to redo most of my product photos now like you suggested, but I really am not sure I have that level of patience so this won’t be a retro improvement. Sorry readers, but from now on I’ll try harder on my still subjects.

This is so wonderful to read! Photography for me is all about playing and practising and enjoying it! It’s always great to try new subjects to photograph, I really want to take more landscapes this Summer! So lovely to meet you xx
I think you have done very well here and Lucy is a great teacher.
Brilliant, and I love the paper flowers – I may want some for my place. Do you know where she got them from?
This is when I’m envious of your stature, I have to stand on a chair or something to get shots like most of these…or place the things on the floor where it can too easily get Stella’d! Well done 🙂
I was sat on the floor *suddenly feel like a giant* 😉
