First day camping

Well, we arrived, albeit rather later than planned. (my fault as I’m lazy.)

It’s nearly 10pm as I start to write this blog from my phone. First kettle of the day is *finally* boiling, Hurrah! Hot chocolate, cow pjs and bed time.
It’s been a stressful afternoon, the drive here wasn’t so bad, except a near miss on the motorway. We were in the middle lane, sensible speed overtaking a small car. A car in the slow lane indicates to pull into middle lane, in front of us, and a car in fast lane does the same. Neither bothers to check properly that its clear and neither seemed to see each other, or our car. Hard to miss us really, estate car, roof box and a trailer!!

Anyways, it was ok – I closed my eyes and braced for a crash, told kids to sit up straight (so seat belts would function correctly) and my other half just drove perfectly and swore a bit. Which is totally understandable, he described it in a rather blokey way “Gosh that was nearly a touching-cloth moment!” :p Charming soul isn’t he?

We eventually had our dinner, we were eating at around bed time, nice bbq. We adopted the farm dog again. He’s called Louis, and he seems to remember us. Wagged his tail as soon as he came near us in farm reception. This evenings dinner was accompanied by Louis offering to play “paw” or giving you *that look*.
My eldest D is scared of dogs, yet he was sat on the grass outside striking him, hugging him, and I think be tried to kiss Louis too! That shows you what a soft sod this dog is, but he us rather old, my guess is 12 years old or more. I just dread the summer we come back and find a puppy here as Louis can’t have long left now?
