I was a happy bunny when the folk at Play.com contacted me to ask if I wanted a gift from their gardening category. Yes, yes please was my reply.
What I picked out might seem dull or boring, but I was about to go and buy similar in town. As I’ve mentioned more than once, pet chickens are organised and efficient garden destroyers. They dig, scratch and peck at things obsessively.

Work in progress.

My messy flower bed, with the old edging.

The chickens pecked and scratched so much that my lawn edging was shredded, as is most of my garden. We had a cheaper lawn edging like this product on Play. The cheper option is £10 for my bed, or £30 for the better fake stone option I chose.

It came all wrapped up, with a note!

So my little helper came outside with me. He was very happy to rip out the old edging for me. He doesn’t like the old edging much either as I often give him the job of sweeping up the dusty mud the chickens have flung over our path.

After removing the old edging I got a garden spade and cut a bit of a gap between the hard mud and the path to make the new lawn edging go in better.

In it goes.

Now that the problem of escaping mud and seeds and bulbs is fixed I really should get those stinging nettles pulled out again, and paint the fence.

And the “after” photo. I hope you’ll agree it looks better.

Anyways, what would be your #ReasonsToShop? It’s not an idle question either, if you tell me what you’d buy on Play and why you might bag yourself 3000 SuperPoints (its like having £30 of store credit for Play.com) to go spending. Wanna win?

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Ending on 23rd of May, entry via rafflecopter widget only as it is a very fair system. Good luck all.

Disclosure: Play kindly sent me two boxes of lawn edging as a gift, the words and photos are my own work. Play.com are also giving 3000 points as the prize.
