The Little Things 7

Today I’m happy. A few years back I knocked our kitchen and hallway wall down to make one large kitchen. Since then the floor has been covered in thin boards, which looked so temporary. The walls and ceiling were painted, curtains were up, everything else except the floor. I felt embarrassed to open the front door. But not today, because now it’s finally homey and finished. At last!

Last night I painted in the cupboard to avoid paint on my new floor.

Maybe this seems ok, just boarding on the floor but it was horrid. It felt nasty under foot and was not washable at all.

Now I have a “happily ever after” kitchen. It looks complete, finished, done. All that’s left to do is move all my junk back in to that pretty looking cupboard. Some of the coats will be finding my charity bag however.

Isn’t it funny how something looking incomplete, half done, can make you feel sad? It won’t look new and clean for long, after all I live with 3 boys. I’m expecting muddy foot prints at 3:30.

Do you have any not quite completed projects at home that are getting on your nerves?

Wow, it’s really made a difference – I can tell why you’re happy about it finally being done! We are *finally* getting a new carpet for our bedroom and I too will be made up. Our “puppy” is nearly 5 now and there are still stains from night time accident from when she was diddy which wouldn’t clean off no matter how hard I scrubbed! I will be so glad to have a nice, clean carpet 🙂 x

Your “puppy” is utterly adorable! Brilliant photo in your avatar. I’m so glad the floor is finally sorted out. Our bedroom hasn’t got puppy marks, but its pink… And a dust magnet. It was put in backwards. It hurts to hoover it, all the fibres point out of the room rather than smoothly into it… So the vacuum kinda jumps and moans. Thats mega annoying!
