Skydive

Beauty And Calm For A Moment #MMskydive 8

Last night I read something and I just have to reply! GhostWriterMummy – Such Great Heights Susanne, aka GhostWriterMummy was part of Team Matilda Mae and skydived with me at the weekend. When she landed she spoke of a rainbow, a sign, something perfect in the sky. I hadn’t seen a rainbow, I felt Suz was really lucky, I wished I had seen a rainbow! But to me a rainbow is an arch, it wasn’t until I read her post about it that I realised we had seen the same. After my panic attack in “free fall” we were floating down in the parachute. Still just above the clouds, the clouds seemed like the floor at this point, a carpet of pure white cotton candy.

Would You Like The Bad Photos? 2

#MMskydive might be over but I am still fundraising and my justgiving page is open until Christmas. So no problem if you are waiting for pay day to donate a pound or three? I paid £95 myself for a camera man to jump out next to me. This means I have 90 pictures, in HD no less, clearly documenting my fear, panic attack and well, terror and pain. If I get to £500 on my justgiving page I’ll share them. They are BAD! I’ve shared just 5 of them with the skydive team and they’ve been wetting themselves laughing.

I Did It! 5

Ok, I’m ok! I did it, I said I would do it. I jumped from a plane, at 13,000 feet! Yes I screamed, yes I cried, yes I swore like a solider, but I’m proud of me. I did it for charity and today the sponsorships increased in a lovely way. Thank you all. Thank you to the lovely people that donated, thank you to those that made #MMskydive trend on twitter, thank you to the other bloggers, and thank you anyone I’ve missed.

I’ve Gone Pink

Sneak peek of my hair… In this photo was still wet, and it looked brighter. I used a highlight cap and hook, not a quick job alone. I put in some streaks using the cap, but avoiding the fringe area, so I can dye that purple later this week. Then I still had some pink left. Shame to waste it, so I tipped the ends as well. Gawd knows what my therapist is going to say in the morning. It’s pink and purple as those are Matilda’s colours. Bathroom was a bit of a state though!

#MMskydive – Why Am I Skydiving For The Lullaby Trust? 2

The last few days Team Matilda Mae have been busy talking about ideas for fundraising and I realised I’ve not really explained why I want to do this. Why am I willing to jump from a plane for a family I’ve never met? Why should I even care? Well here goes, I care simply because I am a Mum too. I saw the tweets from Jennie about Matilda Mae and all my sympathy, and thoughts were with her, I wanted to fix this. Hoped so hard it was a mistake, that She might wake up. I cried reading my screen, Jennie was not just words on a screen, she was a real lady, sharing her real emotions, and I needed to fix it, to help, to listen. But I can’t fix it, there is nothing anyone can do to bring Matilda back, but by doing something mad for The Lullaby Trust charity […]

How About an Online Raffle for #MMskydive ?

Righty, I am thinking of ways to help with the skydive sponsorship for the Team Matilda Mae jump and I have a cunning plan. I offered advertising space on MRB to small companies in return for donations to my just giving page, but I have not yet had any takers. (If you are a blogger, or a business and this sounds tempting there is a link explaining it all on my left sidebar along with the Skydive badge) I’ve had an idea… What I am thinking is I try to source a few prizes to giveaway on MRB and I do an online raffle. So companies could donate a prize and I would link to the company’s website from my blog, MRB readers could enter to win prizes by making a donation on my just giving page, or by TextGiving by texting “JSKY99 £1” to 70070. (The minimum donations that are set by […]

Going For a Little Spin 5

My pal Pink Oddy  encouraged me to get active with her #MotivationalMonday post. The theme was spinning. I cycle most days so a bit too obvious.. Instead I now have partners cross trainer from the garage in the living room. I’ve not used gym equipment before this week but my recent weight check worried me. Determined to lose some weight before the skydive, I’ve just ordered two weeks of ‘orrible meal replacement shakes, and I’m eagerly awaiting a pair of zaggora exercise hot pants. Starting gently, 4 minutes on the clock and I did 6 minutes before bed last night. I know these are  not the best photos ever, but I was stood on the cross trainer at the time.

Weigh In, Oh Dear

As I had some issues with my home scales recently today I went in boots. The maximum weight for the skydive is 15 stone. I’m way too close to that limit. I must lose some weight, now it’s like a sponsored slim & the jump!

#PRrequest Help a Charity and Sponsor Me 4

Hello!I’ve had an idea to get fundraising for the #MMskydive. As the cute badge on my side bars tells you, I’m jumping from a plane in July for charity. I am doing this for the family of Matilda Mae, as their story really touched me. I’m actually scared of heights, confined spaces, strangers, wide open areas and lots of other phobias, so this was a pretty big thing for me to join in with. I will be high up, in a tiny plane, strapped to an instructor I do not know and surrounded by fellow bloggers, none of whom I’ve ever met in real life so are strangers still, and the place the instructor aims for will be a massive open space! It ticks lots of phobia boxes, but I’m determined I’m going to do this and I’m convincing myself it is good to force yourself to do crazy things […]
