WIN – 1 Of 2 Speck iPhone Cases (ended) 9

Another quick pre Christmas Competition. When I went to BritMums Live in the Summer I had 2 Speck CandyShell cases in my goody bag. These are both a dark pink shell with black buttons and features and sell at £29.99 each. Want it? Win it! a Rafflecopter giveaway Listed on Loquax.

Christmas Comps from House of Fraser (ended)

Recently I was asked to help House of Fraser promote a competition they had, but I got distracted with going to Europe and Christmas shopping, and putting the Crimbo decorations up – and that competition has now ended. So because I feel guilty about this, I am telling you about not 1 but 3 competitions on the HOF blog. Hurry though, the closing dates are coming up fast but they are easy to enter, just answer an easy question as a blog comment on each one.   Win a LuLu bag. Ends on 11th December. Win a male grooming hamper. Ends tomorrow! (9th December) Win a huge ladies toiletries hamper. Ends on 11th December.

WIN (ended) – Scrapbook by Me from Parragon Books 14

As a Parragon Book Buddy my sons receive books to review, however this time it wasn’t suitable for my sons so I am giving it away on this post. I checked Parragon don’t mind. It’s lovely, but it’s just not boyish! If I got this as a gift 25 years ago I would have loved it. The giveaway is via Rafflecopter, and only runs a few days as I hope it will be with the winner before Christmas. http://www.parragon.com/uk/books/detail/scrapbook-made-by-me a Rafflecopter giveaway Shared on Loquax.

Jewel Candle – A Review 1

This week I was sent a JewelCandle in Cinnamon Bun scent. Jewel Candles are handmade scented candles, with an extra bonus. A little way down is a jewel, either a ring or earrings. I’ve been burning it for hours today following my puppy having a little accident so I wanted to hide the smell. (I did of course vax the floor but the smell remained). The scent is lovely, the jar is also lovely, I’m not so keen on the sticky plastic label on the jar as it was stuck on wonky, which I feel makes it look a little cheap. The ring that was in my candle is the narrow ring you see in the photo, the other was already mine. These come in various scents, and suit various occasions such as birthday or Christmas gifts. I would recommend them as gifts for candle fans for a Christmas gift, but […]

Winning Weekends (29 Nov-2 December)

Happy Friday compers and bloggers, I’m not here this week….. I’m in GERMANY. I’ve gone on holiday with my Mum, Christmas markets. Can you believe it’s 1st December on Sunday? Please linky up blog competitions below, they can be your own blog comps, or just ones you have seen online and thought “that’s awesome, but not for me”. Maybe a friend is having a blog giveaway/contest for boys things, but your kiddos are girls. Perhaps it’s a Star Wars Comp and you are a devoted Trekkie? Linky it up 😉 I don’t really have rules for this but this is for UK competitions please, and I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “12/12 Win your favourite sweets – blogtitle” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. End dates are great because if it’s got a long date it might be worth adding to next […]

Nerf For Christmas 1

As a child I used to love Nerf but was told I wasn’t allowed it, as I am a girl. How mean!? My eldest son D loves Nerf’s and has a bit of a collection upstairs. So he was Delighted when I told him Argos wanted to send him and Jen a Nerf each. You probably heard recently about the top Christmas Toys being announced, Nerf was on it. Dream toys here at Argos. Jen had a Stryfe and D had the Alpha Trooper CS12 Nerf. Sadly the weather has been against us, so not many photos, but my boys have been running about outside and inside shooting each other, me, and Blokey. Everything has been a target! These were brilliant fun. Jen struggled with his jamming, but my in-house-Nerf-expert D insists it was user error not an actual fault. D knows what he’s on about, he has 8 Nerfs, […]

Rosewood Options Dog Crate Review 1

Our Freya Woof has “abandonment issues” following being dumped, and ending up stray. When she has company she’s super chilled out, except for the sudden bursts of playfulness. She only plays two or three times a day, and only a few minutes each time – its fair to say my hound is not energetic. The problem comes if we leave the room, or house! If it’s dinner time and we all go to the kitchen table she will probably follow us within five minutes – she doesn’t pinch dinner or even pull the “puppy dog” begging face, she just needs to know where her people (thats us) are. I can’t even peg the washing on the line in the back garden without her trying to chew or scratch her way through the back door, and she cries… Proper crying. She doesn’t stop until her people are back closeby.

Letters From Santa by the NSPCC 1

I like to help charities, particularly ones I have experience of, and more so at Christmas! As a teen the NSPCC were my legal guardians, so rather than writing a letter from “Santa” for my boys I get a lovely one from the NSPCC website in return for a donation. The suggested donation is £5 and you can choose more or less if you wish. Every year online I see people selling “letters from Santa” where people are just printing out their own scripted letters and changing the names and ages – not very personalised really and that money goes straight to that seller. With the NSPCC letters to Santa the actual letters are awesome AND it’s not money to someone’s pocket, this helps real kids. (Trust me!) The Letters from Santa section on the NSPCC site lets you make your letter. You tell them some basics, first name, surname, favourite things, and a […]

Oxfam Christmas Toy Range 2

Jen and D received a lovely retro gift in the post thanks to Oxfam. It is a boxed set of glass “days-gone-by” marbles, although marbles aren’t modern, and unlikely to appeal to the 3DS generation my lads like them. On our recent holiday to Devon Jen wanted to buy marbles from every little gift shop we went near. As we were camping we refused to buy any, as we knew if they were lost camping in the woods there would be many tears and sniffling. When these marbles came Jen was very pleased, “Ooooooh these are them things I wanted to buy in Devon Mum!” Although we’ve had these in the house for over a week life gets in the way sometimes, parents evenings, dog adoptions, play dates with little friends, and we’ve just got around to playing with them – sorry Oxfam.   Like me you might have been unaware […]

Christmas Shoe Boxes 5

After years being a bit anti the charity shoe box schemes I’ve decided I will give a box to a girl overseas. This change of heart is entirely MichelleTwinMum’s doing. Last year she went with Operation Christmas Child, (or OCC for short) to Belarus to see how they operate and who gets the shoebox parcels. You can read all about it on Michelle’s blog by clicking on the link here.

Christmas Shopping 5

I’ve made an early start on Christmas presents and have a few people’s gifts sorted already. The gift I’m proudest of, and a blindingly good price are these photos for family. The photo collage prints cost 99p each for 10 x 8 inch on snapfish, and the frames are from poundland, and it’s a real glass window on it, not perspex as I would have expected of a cheap item.
