How I wish I meant her birthday, or something sweet. Sadly two years ago today Matilda Mae passed away. She went to her bed and just didn’t wake up. For no reason at all she was just gone. The Angels took her. Matilda Mae was dead. Jennie (@Edspire) tweeted her daughter was dead. Every piece of me wanted the tweet I read to be wrong. Perhaps some sick sod has hacked Jennie’s twitter? Maybe it’s some kind of dare to post something shocking? Maybe I imagined reading it (I checked, it was still there). What if…. I was running out of excuses for why it was not true. It was true, Matilda Mae was gone. I felt so bad for Jennie and her family. She had reached out to the Internet at an awful time, and I hope that the reaction helped somehow.
OK, this isn’t likely to be something all my readers would be interested in but I am offering you the chance to win advertising space on my blog. Bloggers, small businesses’ and charities are my ideal advertisers. Why am I doing this? Feel free to have a read around my blog, and you’ll see I did this last year. I jumped from a plane last year for Matilda Mae, the late daughter of a friend. She was 9 months old and died from SIDS, she went to bed and never woke up. Reading about it got to me, I had to help, I had to do something. What can I do that is big enough? That can change things? That will help someone? That will mean something? So we skydived – jumping from the clouds, as near to heaven as you can be. I am terrified of heights, I properly cried – and […]
Its team honk time… If you found this page via a flyer #TeamHonkGlos gave you, thank you for dropping by! Donating is easy, go to bit.ly/HonkGlos (yup, those capital letters are needed) and fill in the form. Maybe shake your handbag out and pledge whatever loose coins you have? It all adds up, and we don’t care if its not a round number. You can write in your own amount, whether it is £1.42 or £5 team honk will be most grateful. #TeamHonkGlos kicks off on Tuesday. That’s really not long and we are well under our fundraising target at the moment. Can you spare a pound or two please? Or maybe you could social media share our sponsorship link? Or simply share or reblog this post? On Tuesday, at roughly noon I’ll be met by Team Honk Bristol, on bikes I am told. They will be worn out, poor […]
Recently I got a nice email from Tots100 suggesting we might like to enter a video competition to become Center Parcs family bloggers, which comes with the perk of a free holiday. How could I refuse? We go to most home games at Kingsholm in Gloucester, it was always Blokey, D, Jen and myself. But since D has started at grammar school he has taken to remaining home to do his excessive amounts of home work. D didn’t want to come today, even though it was a very sunny, non autumnal day. Jen on a statue. We were pulling faces, our team lost. No, my nose isn’t broken. If you watch BTsport I’m sure you’ll have seen us at Kingsholm matches.
I read something on T’internet tonight I had to share, Darren of OD3G blog has started an e-petition in response to more graphic images being on the front pages, making them hard to ignore, and lets be honest you can’t unsee the woolwich murders covered in blood once you’ve seen it can you? What’s the problem? Well children actually, I don’t want my child to see decapitated soldiers, or murders or the moment a pressure cooker bomb exploded or piles of bodies covered in cloth after flood/earthquakes. Nor does Darren, and he has a point. The Front Pages petition can be found here.
Hiya, if you found me because you are attending Brit Mums and are having a nosey around blogs of other attendees, then welcome to my blog! I’m Julie (Obviously, sorry) and I live in Gloucester. I have two children, both boys, D and Jen. I adore my sons, but I struggle with them. I do not hide that I have mental health issues – if I smile at you and make eye contact often but don’t speak that means I want to talk, to say “Hiya I’m Julie” but I’m too self-concious, too shy, afraid you won’t know me, and then I’ll be embarrassed even more. Once I get past that, I think I’m chatty, friendly and a good listener. Things I like include cake, coffee, chocolate, cups of tea, and biccies. And this is why I’m trying hard to lose weight now before I skydive for Matilda. Not […]
I’m going! My first bloggers meet up ever. If you go say hi.. I’ll be the tall shy one. I’m finally getting to meet some blogging buddies in person.
Whilst sat awake tonight an idea came to me #BlogTag Idea! I figured that a lot of other bloggers like getting a new audience, new readers. I know I like stumbling across blogs I’ve not seen before, and I also love it when other bloggers tweet links to my blog or share on G+ or other kind things like that. Well what if on a Wednesday evening we have a little twitter gathering. You tweet out the URL of a blog or two you like and @tag the blog owner and hash it #BlogTag – for example “have a peek at mummysrandomblog.blogspot.co.uk by @me #BlogTag because I like it / interesting posts / great reviews”Something like this, something thats your opinion though not just borrowing that persons blog bio.If someone #BlogTag’s you please tag them back in your own words. Whilst you are there why not pop a comment on […]
