I was recently asked if I would like to review JOHNSON’s baby easy rinse foaming shampoo with Jen. I know it’s called “baby” shampoo but I’ve been using it myself too, and it smells rather nice. It comes in a little pump action bottle that makes it foam lots like the hand-soap in public loos. Jen likes it mostly because it is fun, I like it because he wants to wash his hair! Until recently he was keen on being clean, baths, showers, paddling pools or hosepipes… he was not fussy.

Today it’s raining on camp and my sons are in the back of the car (because it’s quieter than a tent in rain I suppose) reading books nicely. It’s a cute little scene but somewhat dominated by the weather. The books they are reading are “Things you never knew about dinosaurs” by Giles Paley-Phillips and “Goodnight little one” by Margaret Wise Brown.

I have been asked to review Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White toothpaste in standard and sensitive. I was pleased to get an email offering me samples of this as I’m a coffee addict and have sensitive teeth. I’m the perfect guinea pig for this actually. Then it dawned on me – how on earth do I photograph me brushing my own teeth? Why would anyone want to see my teeth? Here is an unflattering action shot of my teeth. The sensitive version is white opaque with blue dots, and the standard is translucent pale blue with blue dots. They both taste ok. Often specialist toothpastes that claim to do more than one thing taste awful in my opinion. What can I say, I’m fussy. But Beverly Hills Formula passes my taste test. The lovely folks at B-Sensible have sent me another product to try out, and one for a Julie’s Notebook reader too. So read what we think, then try and win your own. These are sold singley rather than in pairs, which could be great for childrens beds. Whilst I wouldn’t think of packing a pillow case for travelling, it is a good idea. In hotels it often crosses my mind “I wonder when this was last washed, if ever?” The problem is I often end up sleeping face down, and  accidentally sniffing where a total stranger has had their head isn’t a nice thing.

As some of the regular readers will have read, I want to shift some weight trying to get ready for that skydive! Have you heard of Zaggora hot pants? These hot pants are a brilliant idea, and Zaggora sell a range of other clothing to help you exercise better. The idea is it makes certain areas of your body hotter than normal, so if you are wearing them it means your bum and thighs do “more work” and waste more calories, so hopefully lose weight from the problem areas first. I’m sad to admit I do have a wobbly tummy, so I am giving Zaggora Medium HotPants 2.0 a good trial. E45 Review 2

I have been trying out E45 the last couple of weeks, and I must say it is not bad. I have problem skin and have used the standard E45 before. But this is a new version with a deep red lid, and I much prefer it. It is called Nourish & Protect, and it has been great on my legs. The bottle states great for Mature skin, does this make me officially old now?  I’ve been using it daily, well if I remembered to that is! It really worked for me, I didn’t think it would to be honest. As I type I am sunburnt after a day in the garden so I’ve slapped the E45 on my shoulders and arms and I’m pretty confident I won’t peel. It smells ok too, not over powering. Yesterday I found out about a site called Stuffster.com from a twitter buddy, I thought to myself “That’s an odd name” and then looked into what the site was about. I headed first to the Twitter Stuffster page, and then had a peek about the main website.  Stuffster in a pictorial nutshell.. Its a shopping tool, a bit like a funky hybrid of an auction sites watch list system and a comparison site and an Internet wish-list. You add products, from almost any site to your Stufflists, and set a desired price. Recently Dr.Beckmann were kind enough to send me a few products to try. Dr.Beckmann Colour & Dirt Collector First of the products I tried was the washing sheets. These catch colours that end up in the water so it doesn’t soak in to other items. I was a bit sceptical of these and have seen them for sale in shops before. The thing is we have many items we wash separately as they are multi coloured and don’t match pale or dark laundry loads, such as our rugby shirts. These are navy blue, bright red and white cotton. A colour run nightmare waiting to happen. I mixed these items all in one load…. Pale, bright vivid colour and black! I would never mix these colours normally. Action…. I was very happy to be contacted and asked if I would review a photo on canvas company. Brilliant timing as I was considering buying some canvas prints of my boys as I haven’t printed anything for such a long time. The downside to digital media. When I checked out the YourImage2Canvas.co.uk website I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, not only were many of the canvases reduced but they also had a 3 for 2 offer on.This meant I got a Medium and 2 smaller canvases for under £50 which is amazing. Review, Red Rover and other games from Mattel

I was lucky enough to be sent 3 board games by and Mattel. I use the word board loosely, as there was no board, but you know what I mean. I’m going to start by talking about Red Rover (£21.99 at Toys r us) I was honestly expecting this game to be a bit boring and the kids to not be interested. I was wrong! apparently it has been advertised on children’s tv and my youngest (aged 4) actually nicked it. I had put it in my room, and was going to wait for a quiet time and check it out myself first, then have the boys play with it. No chance! He wanted it a lot.

PLEASE NOTE, cubby kit have sadly gone out of business, but I am leaving it here as it was a lovely idea, and I love the photos. Recently the postman knocked with a rather large cardboard box, with pale blue printing on it to look like an old fashioned suitcase. He never gets things arrive addressed to him, so was a treat! Suitcase design on box (Jen had chicken pox in photos, sorry) The quality of the items in CubbyKits are really good, I was really impressed to find pencils and child scissors included…. often “complete” craft kits don’t have things like glue or child sized scissors, assuming every parent already has those, well I didn’t! So thanks muchly for those scissors, better than the ones his big brothers school use for sure. Some items in each kit could be kept after the CubbyKit is finished. Some of the Contents […]
