Hotel Chocolat Sleekster Christmas Collection

Last night I had to test out Hotel Chocolat’s Sleekster collection. It was a hard job, forcing myself to eat yummy chocolate. I was so distressed that I had eat some of these. 😉 Ok it wasn’t a hard job. Hehehe. It was flipping lovely. Things I loved included great details in the decoration of each chocolate, the grown-up-ness of it, the taste and that Hotel Chocolat are cocoa growers AND chocolatiers. The chocolate itself is rich and tasty – far from average.

Happy Friday compers and bloggers, Please linky up blog competitions below, they can be your own blog comps, or just ones you have seen online and thought “that’s awesome, but not for me”. Maybe a friend is having a blog giveaway/contest for boys things, but your kiddies are girls. Perhaps it’s a fishing Comp and you are a devoted gardener? Linky it up 😉 I don’t really have rules for this but this is for UK competitions please, and I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “25/12 Win your favourite sweets – blogtitle” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. End dates are great because if it’s got a long date it might be worth adding to next weekends as well and it’s also good to know what the prize is before trying to win it. I will try to add a […]

Classic Cars. Which Are Your Favourites?

Since I was very small I have always liked classic cars, a thing that seems to have been passed along to me by my Father despite not really knowing him. When I was a toddler he got in to the local paper by making a stretched Jag car, it was beautiful, I was tiny but I remember this car. Outside it still looked like the normal Jaguar mark 10, but with 6 not 4 doors, inside its was pimped a bit. There was a mixture of faux fur in a black and white Dalmatian style, and crushed red velvet. I’d do anything to own that car, sadly I think he sold it in the years I did not know him. I’ve searched, well more like scoured the internet, but I can not find a photo. The photo is missing from my photo/memory box and I spent over an hour searching […]

Jewel Candle – A Review 1

This week I was sent a JewelCandle in Cinnamon Bun scent. Jewel Candles are handmade scented candles, with an extra bonus. A little way down is a jewel, either a ring or earrings. I’ve been burning it for hours today following my puppy having a little accident so I wanted to hide the smell. (I did of course vax the floor but the smell remained). The scent is lovely, the jar is also lovely, I’m not so keen on the sticky plastic label on the jar as it was stuck on wonky, which I feel makes it look a little cheap. The ring that was in my candle is the narrow ring you see in the photo, the other was already mine. These come in various scents, and suit various occasions such as birthday or Christmas gifts. I would recommend them as gifts for candle fans for a Christmas gift, but […]

Nerf For Christmas 1

As a child I used to love Nerf but was told I wasn’t allowed it, as I am a girl. How mean!? My eldest son D loves Nerf’s and has a bit of a collection upstairs. So he was Delighted when I told him Argos wanted to send him and Jen a Nerf each. You probably heard recently about the top Christmas Toys being announced, Nerf was on it. Dream toys here at Argos. Jen had a Stryfe and D had the Alpha Trooper CS12 Nerf. Sadly the weather has been against us, so not many photos, but my boys have been running about outside and inside shooting each other, me, and Blokey. Everything has been a target! These were brilliant fun. Jen struggled with his jamming, but my in-house-Nerf-expert D insists it was user error not an actual fault. D knows what he’s on about, he has 8 Nerfs, […]

Scruffy Chops Dog Shampoo & Conditioner 4

Our lovely Freya woof was smelling a little funky, so when I saw Scruffy Chops wanted dog owner bloggers to review their range I put up Freya’s paw as a volunteer. Before I even opened the products up to sniff I liked the packaging. It’s those plastic bag type bottles that use a fraction of the plastic of normal bottles. The top flips open nicely, even with wet hands, and the bag-like bottle makes it easy to squeeze out a big dollop of shampoo or a delicate slowly dribbled line from head to tail if your hound prefers. I was tempted to use the conditioner myself, smells ace. I haven’t by the way…. So no jokes please. :-p The shampoo is “Sugar Doggy” and is £5.99 and the conditioner is called “Muddy Marvelous” which costs £6.99.

Robot Wars Live 5

Oh Yes, Robot Wars is back, sadly not yet on TV. Who knows though, we all just need to make a bit more fuss about it so the TV companies notice it’s still going. I found out about Robot Wars in my local town just by chance. I needed a wee, oh the glamour, at least you know I write the truth, so I popped in to the local shopping centre as out town no longer has proper public loos.   I ran past this on the way to the “ladies room” and I could hardly believe my eyes. Behind Major Damage you might notice the delightful little retro Matilda, the house-bot. Ahhh memories of Craig Charles on the telly box getting super excited. (Mr CC isn’t part of the team still, but the men that replace him have huge passion.) I HAD to buy tickets. What I didn’t read […]

Make Up For Kids? 6

Did you wear make up too young? I know I did, by 11 years old I was hiding myself behind the make up. I felt ugly, and had to cover acne. These days I still can’t go out without at least foundation. I am covering acne scars and other scars. Girls as young as ten are feeling the pressure to wear make-up. According to recent findings by leading UK based beauty and cosmetics retailer Fragrance Direct. Are our children under pressure to grow up too quickly? Fragrance Direct, a leading UK based beauty and cosmetics retailer, conducted a survey of 1,600 of their Facebook fans to get their view.

Kong – The Best Dog Toys Ever 3

Our loveable Freya Woof doesn’t really play much yet. Every now and then she gets all hyper and bouncy and it’s adorable to watch. She was sent two Kong xtreme products to try by Swell Pets. Puppy Kong chew toys are blue and white marbley colour, standard Kong’s are pillar box red, and the Kong xtremes are in black. The rubber in the xtreme range is rougher for heavy chewers or over excitable woofers. Freya needs the xtreme products as chewing is her bad habit, plastic cups and the kids teddies, the curtains and the door mat have all been chewed. Click to view video.
