I like to help charities, particularly ones I have experience of, and more so at Christmas! As a teen the NSPCC were my legal guardians, so rather than writing a letter from “Santa” for my boys I get a lovely one from the NSPCC website in return for a donation. The suggested donation is £5 and you can choose more or less if you wish. Every year online I see people selling “letters from Santa” where people are just printing out their own scripted letters and changing the names and ages – not very personalised really and that money goes straight to that seller. With the NSPCC letters to Santa the actual letters are awesome AND it’s not money to someone’s pocket, this helps real kids. (Trust me!) Yesterday I had the “Home Visit” from dogs trust. The final step to adopting Freya, my lovely and friendly but underweight and nervous girlie. She either ran away or was dumped, abandoned, discarded like rubbish. My opinion is she was abandoned. Her personality is sweet and caring, but she’s so afraid and cries her little heart out if she’s alone. If utterly alone she chews furniture and dogs trust phoned me to request a meeting a few days ago as she had chewed a large plastic dog bed, apparently it was merely a brightly coloured mangled mess and no longer a bed. I can’t see a runaway being bothered like that about being alone. The staff call it separation anxiety, and as I hate being alone, and also worry about being abandoned, I understand her a little. Twitter informs me its World Mental Health Day today. Something I can contribute to I feel. The other day I shared my doctors letter with you. I was hurt and upset to read a professional stating “Julie’s condition disables her” and his opinion that I’ll probably never be fit to work again. This is due to mental health. Mental health is often invisible. It often comes with a huge stigma, and a lot of judgement. A brief history of me… I’ve been abused, step father and a male partner. I have been beaten, robbed, raped, forced to do things, and utterly controlled to a point I lost the will to live. I escaped, I ran a few hundred miles and made internet friends. Good afternoon, I haven’t heard of Two little fleas before, but they certainly got my attention with this competition to win £750 of John Lewis vouchers. I have heard of Little Stuff though, so I’m in. The idea is to write a post about what you can spend £750 on to have the best “big night in”. As I don’t really do going out, I figured I’d have a go at this. Firstly, I need some housework doing…. I hit google and had a look at prices and it will cost about £150 to spring clean this place. And I want a BBQ as mine went to heaven (might have been via a scrap metal collectors van). This one at Argos seems ok, not too show off-ish but functional. Then I obviously need food and drinkies? I’m Trying To Network 3

As I’m starting to write more often, I wanted to try to network a bit better, so last night I applied to Top Mommy Blogs and am please to say I’m in, I got accepted. Which was nice. It’s a network of Mommy (Mummy) blogs which uses a referral sort of system to decide which blogs are most popular, rather than have the most followers. I’m not expecting to be number 1, or even top 10 but what I am trying to do is get my blog to a wide audience. Ok, ok, I accept people don’t always want to read my personal issues and rants, but my saddest posts get the most traffic actually. It’s not been great recently, I won’t lie. I’m done, I’ve had enough and I want out. Except I’ve no where really to go. I can’t stand Him Indoors telling me I’m useless, that I’m lazy and milking an “illness” and should get a job… in retail no less. He keeps pointing out shop work : you know, what therapist and doctors and an independent occupational health adviser agree I’m not suited for. Retail nearly saw me leap from a window. Since not “working” I’ve got in to blogging, trying to blog for good, not just personal rants or reviews. I’ve helped charities, and supported others in the “online community”. To him they are strangers, people that don’t matter. To me they are my only friends. I need them, and I hope it’s a two-way friendship that they like me back.

Last night I read something and I just have to reply! GhostWriterMummy – Such Great Heights Susanne, aka GhostWriterMummy was part of Team Matilda Mae and skydived with me at the weekend. When she landed she spoke of a rainbow, a sign, something perfect in the sky. I hadn’t seen a rainbow, I felt Suz was really lucky, I wished I had seen a rainbow! But to me a rainbow is an arch, it wasn’t until I read her post about it that I realised we had seen the same. After my panic attack in “free fall” we were floating down in the parachute. Still just above the clouds, the clouds seemed like the floor at this point, a carpet of pure white cotton candy.

My “mota” is called Custard, and it is a “she”. I have photo blinds courtesy of a TravelSupermarket blogger challenge I took part in a while back. I like that Custard is yellow, and easier to find when I forget where I’ve parked.
