#WinningWeekends (11 Apr) 3

Welcome to the #WinningWeekends blog competition linky. Same as usual, pop your lovely links in the boxes below. For example put “30/5 Win a gift voucher – MyBlogName” in the box marked NAME if you’re running a comp to give away a gift card and the competition ends on 30th May. I don’t know about you, but I like to have a clue what I am clicking up front, and the closing date is just super helpful as I know some competition hunters look at posts from the last few weeks as well as the most recent post. #WinningWeekends means that bloggers can quickly link up their posts, and maybe grab a badge to show support, and compers can find a few nice competitions they might have missed. Even if you aren’t a “comper“, you might just fancy a quick flutter on a few competitions if you are feeling lucky.

Batman fancy dress outfit review – joke.co.uk

Today, as I bet every parent knows, is World Book Day. It is a day I often dread, and I know I’m not the only parent that struggles with WBD dress up outfits. But this year its all good, Jokers masquerade online costume shop have sent us a Batman outfit for Jen. Oddly though his school aren’t dressing up today, they are doing it tomorrow instead. Confusion followed as a few kids were in fancy dress, I felt so bad for the lad in a fluffy lion suit this morning. A photo of Jen will be added here tomorrow. The Batman outfit is made by Rubies fancy dress, which is a brand I have heard of before. It is in 3 main pieces, the all-in-one body suit, a mask with the cape attached to it, and a rubbery belt. The suit is like a big onesie, which opens at the […]

Winning Weekends (14 Feb) 3

Happy Friday compers and bloggers, and happy Valentine’s day too! Each Friday I post this for you to share lovely blog competitions you have found. Linky it up 😉 I don’t really have rules for this but this is for UK competitions please, and I would very much appreciate if you filled in the title (name) box like this: “25/2 win your favourite perfume – blogtitle” rather than “my friends awesomely named blog”. End dates are great because if it’s got a long date it might be worth adding to next weekends as well and it’s also good to know what the prize is before trying to win it. I will try to add a few competitions to the linky myself each week before it goes live. The linky opens each Friday, and used to close each Monday but I’m experimenting and leaving it open all week. #WinningWeekends means that […]

Dog health tips – Make parasite control a monthly thing 11

If like me you’re bad at remembering dates when you should or shouldn’t be doing things for your hounds health might I suggest the 1st of each month? About 6 weeks ago I last did Freya’s flea treatment, and I couldn’t remember the date I used the flea spot on at all. So I’ve waited until the end of the month so in future knowing the date its due is easy peasy. Today will also be worming tablet day. I know she’s not going to volunteer to eat a tablet so this will go into chunks of meat from our dinner later this evening. She won’t notice it so much then, and it makes those yukky looking tablets a reward, not something to be wary of.

Honk! I’m in the #TeamHonkRelay for Sport Relief 5

If you don’t #TeamHonk are Alexander Residence, Mammasaurus and Mummy Barrow. Last year they went to Ghana and were quite frankly awesome. That was for Comic Relief, but this slightly daft brilliant Lands to John O’Groats blogger relay walk/skip/dance/run thingamybob is for Sport Relief. The relay started in Cornwall a few days ago, and has already raised a lot of money, seen funny dress up outs and outrageousness a plenty, but I get involved in February. Some photos from the bloggers who have already done their “leg” of the relay can be found on the team honk photo page, and the master plan of the massive route is also on team honks site, and it is a little epic. What am I upto you ask? Well it’s Sport relief, but I just think of comic relief so need to look a bit silly … So I am walking from Gloucester city center towards […]

The New Year Storm 2

Here in Gloucester the weather was special for the start of 2014, and the word that sums it up best is minging. Sideways rain, whistling wind and chilly. No major damage, and the pets are safe, although the hutches are very soggy. We thought we’d got away with just a nearly flooded garden, a water logged, muddy mess. Then the fence came down. We struggled to find somewhere open that had a similar panel in stock in the correct size. The internet revealed Wickes had some. Yay! Only a mile from home and just £19. We got the trailer on the car and all went out after a big cooked lunch. What could go wrong?

Thorntons The Snowman and Snowdog Chocolates

Bring a little bit of festive magic to someone special’s Christmas or New year with this extra-special range of choccy treats. The Snowman and Snowdog are favourite festive TV characters, and these gorgeous models are carefully crafted from Thorntons creamy white chocolate so won’t melt in the morning like snow but I can’t promise they’ll last too long as they are rather tasty!

“Wagg Kennel Is Yummy” – Freya Woof 4

Freya loves Wagg food and treats, so we were delighted when Dalton the Wagg woofer invited Freya to be part of “Dalton’s pack” reviewers. It’s great working with a brand we buy and love already. We’ve tried Freya on a few types of dog munch since she was adopted in October, but in total honesty she spat other brands of food out. With treats she loves her Wagg treats, but will take other brands too. Although she has her limits, Wilko value dog biscuits were a step too cheap. She refused them out right, all except the yellow ones. My hound knows what she likes and that’s fine. She also likes to steal meat that has been allowed a few moments to cool in our kitchen before serving, but that’s another story! The lovely people at Wagg sent Freya a little parcel of love earlier in December and she’s been […]
