A little while back I was contacted on behalf of House of Fraser about a picnic outfit post. Well I chose my boys some clothing by name it, which seem to be a relaxed trendy range. My lads don’t really do posh outfits, I wanted something they would wear by choice, not just if I insist they wear it. I was asked to choose up to £50 in clothing for the boys, so naturally I hit the sales section. I did the shopping so well in fact that it was exactly £50, I can’t link to them all though, as they are now sold out. For Jen I chose Navy blue trousers and a “soda” print t-shirt. For D it was also navy blue trousers, a “retro” grey print t-shirt, and a grey and blue hoodie. Sadly the hoodie doesn’t fit D, but he did like it.

Why is it my Jen hates brushing his teeth? He tries all kinds of excuses for why he shouldn’t and sadly his dentist wasn’t much help. When I said in his last appointment “Jen refuses to brush his teeth most days” she replied with “don’t worry these are still just the milk teeth” to me and later to Jen “your teeth are looking great, well done”. Not well done, they have big tartar lines along them. I was less than impressed. Luckily the folk at Oasis have been in touch and sent Jen some charts and stickers and sugar free lollipops as rewards.

Today this happened. My neighbour wrote on Facebook earlier “young guinea pig, free to good home”. For a little while I’ve been considering getting a pal for Patch rabbit. Patch is mega old, about 10 years old. According to the posters in the pet shops rabbits live until about 6 years old, erm? Anyhow Patch hates other rabbits, I have introduced him to seven other rabbits over the years, he hated all of them but he tolerated our elderly guinea pig, Dotty, who passed away a while ago now.

Yesterday we went to visit Blokey’s Grandad. He is a very elderly chap, who had a stroke a few years back so whenever we go round he’s always in his chair. The boys can’t remember him pre-stroke so they struggle a bit. I remember him being a bit chattier so I understand his speech. Although the kids like the great grandparents they do act like caged animals when we leave their house. Too much sitting still and behaving! So afterwards we went for a muck about at the park. It was a hot sunny day, so ice cream and a walk about the pond. This soon turned into chucking sticks into the water, then pebbles. A bit of tree climbing. Fishing out clumps of fish eggs or frog spawn using long twigs, but carefully so we didn’t kill anything, and we put it back in the same place we found […]

Tikka the chicken was struggling and lonely since Freya Woof “got” poor Fajita. So yesterday we drove a few miles into the countryside to a farm to get a few more chickens. That was the plan, a few small, cheap chickens. The hens the boys chose were not cheap. I should have said “No way” at the prices, but the boys had decided and I didn’t have the heart to refuse. £35 each!! Ah well, it’s done now.

Today, as I bet every parent knows, is World Book Day. It is a day I often dread, and I know I’m not the only parent that struggles with WBD dress up outfits. But this year its all good, Jokers masquerade online costume shop have sent us a Batman outfit for Jen. Oddly though his school aren’t dressing up today, they are doing it tomorrow instead. Confusion followed as a few kids were in fancy dress, I felt so bad for the lad in a fluffy lion suit this morning. A photo of Jen will be added here tomorrow. The Batman outfit is made by Rubies fancy dress, which is a brand I have heard of before. It is in 3 main pieces, the all-in-one body suit, a mask with the cape attached to it, and a rubbery belt. Yesterday the kids were bored and moaning they didn’t want to go out. They’d gone a bit stir crazy in fact and all the overly aggressive “playing” was worrying me. It was one of them days. After another time-out moment Blokey and I told them to get coats, shoes and the woofs lead. We hadn’t had lunch yet, and Blokey and I just needed to get them out of the house. We popped to a certain popular drive through to grab lunch without leaving the woof.
