#SpecialK30 – How Things Change in 30 Years 4

Did you know Special K is 30 years old? Well it is. The lovely folks at BritMums sent me a box of new recipe Special K to try out. It’s better than I remembered, to be honest I used to hate the stuff, but I was happy to munch it this morning. So much so I might even buy it on the next big shop. This is my entry for the BritMums and Special K How I’ve changed Linky challenge. Priorities.. Cuppa, munch and Hair straighteners.   THEN.. Thirty years is a long time, I was a toddler so my memory isn’t perfect. I would have been in cloth nappies still (probably), and would have been a right handful on stairs and pavements as I was an inquisitive type. But the music was brilliant in the Eighties, and I loved leg warmers and jump rope. I wanted a chopper bike, but […]

Warmer Weather Makes Things Better

Today the sun is shining, but it’s still rather windy unfortunately. The boys wanted a barbecue but the massive grey clouds have put us off this idea. So for dinner later it will be indoor barbecue. All the same food but under the grill, still tons of bread and ketchup. So far today I got up really late, nice hot shower and outside to hug bunnies. Little Mo has been bitten on his back by Bart, he has a bald patch and a scar. Poor chap, so he’s getting extra hugs and attention. Looks to be healing nicely I’m happy to report. Also cut the lawn and neighbours lawn. Fixed some fence panels in my garden using some nails, a hammer, and plenty of noise! The pets are fed and I had a kip on the sofa watching snooker. What are you lovely blog readers up to today?

Bunny Bother 6

Just over a week ago we welcomed Bart and Mo into our home. Two super cute fluffy boys. Over the last three days Bart has been acting, well, teenage! Stamping, scent marking everything, even weeing on poor Mo. Until yesterday I really had no reason to doubt they were both males, then I thought “Hmmm Mo is letting Bart be the boss” so I had a close look underneath. Bart is a big boy if you catch my drift. Mo’s “bits” wasn’t obviously male or female. Oh heck! So today during a huggle I notice Mo is a bit more chubby, so I stroke gently across Mo’s belly. It’s swollen and firm near Mo’s back legs. Mo isn’t a dude, she’s a dudette.I’ve booked them both into the vets for a check over… But I’m 90% certain I have a mini-bunny-family rather than two best buddies. Just need to make […]

Making Up Memories 2

I recently won a £100 Groupon voucher, which I’m so grateful for. Thanks again to Luci at mother.wife.me blog. A few months back the school photographers came in to class and the pictures they took were awful. Jen was dressed all wonky, shirt hanging out and disinterest all over his face. D was cross eyed and bored.   This will be the only year my boys are at the same school as D is top year juniors and Jen started at infants this year.We were upset the photos were so poor. It was like having a memory stolen from us. We had been looking at professional photo studios, and partner said “the boys Will need a good haircut first?” so we were looking at a three figure sum to fix this. Then I saw this on my Groupon app: “Family Photoshoot With Two Children’s Haircuts, Canvas Print and Additional Prints […]

Its Raining, Its Pouring 2

At last, some sensible April weather. It has warmed up to a temperature where I’m no longer shivering. All day it’s been reasonably warm with anything between drizzle to heavy downpours. Occasionally actual sunshine was seen, great stuff. As a gardener I appreciate the wet weather, my rain water butts were almost empty and the beds were just dusty. Of course I’ve been watering my new trees but within an hour or so the top soil was dry as here we have not had rain in weeks. Today I wanted to get outside in my garden and plant my bulbs, but of course, it turned from very faint infrequent drizzle into real rain at the time I was going to get growing. Tomorrow, tomorrow I will turn over the top soil and bury those 70-ish bulbs I bought in Wilkinsons the other day. I’m still planning on having a mini fruit […]

Meet Bart and Mr Moustache 3

My boys have been asking for a pet of their own. So let me introduce Mr Moustache, an albino lionhead lop, and Bart a very fluffy lionhead with diddy little ears and fake mascara on! Mr Moustache (or Mo) Bart Sharing lunch. Two little friends. Mr Moustache and his jingle ball. Seriously have you ever seen a rabbit with a moustache?? They are adorable. Mr Moustache is very chilled and quiet, but Bart bounces about rather a lot. Of course, more photos shall be added as they grow.

A Warm Day So Off To The Park We Go 3

Today it was sunny outside! *faints* So after lunch we went to the park. By the time the boys stopped debating whether they were going to the park, or just planning on arguing with each other all afternoon, the sun had faded off a little and the wind had picked back up. Chilly, but I was determined they weren’t going to play computer games all day! We went out with a blue football and the parcel I needed to post to the Brolly sheet competition winner. The post office is by the park so it made sense really to do both. When we were in the post office the boys asked for a drink so we got some cartons and drank them as we walked. When I got to the park I was a bit shocked, it was the busiest I’ve ever seen it. We couldn’t use the swings or […]

Travelling with the Kids, In-Car Entertainment 1

@travelsupermkt  #JollyJourneys Competition with @Tots100    I read on Tots100 that TravelSupermarket are after travelling tips for keeping little folks busy in the back seats on long journeys. Well, this is right up my street.   We drive to places like Wales, Devon or Cornwall for holidays. We are normally going camping, so the boot is often pretty full. Where we drive to, Cornwall On the longer journeys we have in car DVD players we recently purchased, but we only take a few films. Its for boredom relief if we get stuck in traffic, rather than the main entertainment option.   Often we talk for the first hour or so. Car Snap is Jen’s favourite game. This means he watches every car we pass and shouts snap as fast as he can if he sees the same make or model. When we are in Daddy’s car we don’t allow the colour […]

Easter Games

My boys are larking around on the Kinect as it’s pretty chilly to play outside. This is their new game, Joy Ride. They have to steer by leaning, and waving arms around.  At least they are burning off the chocolate egg calories somehow. It’s funny to watch them though. Bruuuummm bruuummmmm!!!!

Just Arrived at Hendra in Newquay 2

First impressions of the outside of our caravan, home for the next few days, wasn’t marvellous. They are all beige and uniform distances apart. Then we walked inside, pleasantly surprised! Some of the fitted furniture is better than the furniture in my house. Home from home I decided to bring some of our own bed linen to avoid an extra charge, and at least I know its washed in decent detergent if I’ve done it myself. I also took the Brolly sheet which you can’t see but it’s under Buzz Lightyear. The boys made themselves comfortable! Then we had pizza and a pudding pizza which I thought was great. 😀 yummy! Thanks Morrisons, never had a pudding pizza before, but it’s awesome. Now we are at the club bar ready for kiddy entertainment to start. Cheesy music but holiday parks are meant to be cheesy aren’t they. Here is the Caravan […]
