This week I’ve been trying to get the kids outside. Kinda tricky if I am honest, but today was an awesome day.
This is Kaln the European eagle owl. He is huge, and funny. It was a really hot day, and every time his handler called him he made a noise that sounded like “No”.
On his way home to his enclosure Kaln slapped D’s camera lens with his huge wings, I couldn’t stop chuckling quietly. It was like “Shows over little dude, quit photographing me!”
A proper post about the barn owl center will be here in a few days.

That one is big. Haha they’re all around where I love & I love to listen to them at night. Happy Saturday!
Wow, amazing picture! Jen is very brave – and the owl is pretty brave too!
Oh it’s so detailed and tame
Thank you for linking up
Not going to lie, they bloody terrify me! Lol x
Jen was frightened of a cute barn owl. Took him ages to pluck up the guts to hold a glove with food on for her, then the owl stamped her feet and refused to come to him. But the huge eagle owl… I kept having to remind him “they bite, and your tiny fingers look like wiggly worms!” He didn’t listen.
Just beautiful! What stunning photos, they are such lovely birds 🙂
I wanted to hug this particular owl so much. When he flew and sat by me on the bench it was so hard not to stroke him.
I used to love going to birds of prey centers as a kid. Looks like a brilliant day!
The owl is very beautiful, thank you for sharing.
He looks marvelous! So awesome to see him this near =) #mysundayphoto
